  1. I commute from Point Clare every day to Burwood on the train it's fine, no worse than going from the South Coast to London. I get the 6:18 and am at work with a cup of tea by 7:35. Home by 6:20 every night. Take a book or a tablet and it's surprising how quickly the time goes. Sometime I have to go to the other office so get to Central about 8ish.
  2. If you don't want fancy try the Glenferrie Lodge in Kirribilli, it's like a b&b, they have family rooms a big garden and HUGE breakfast which is included. Very friendly place, but be warned lots of stairs and no lifts!!! But the staff are so helpful they will help carry bags or you could ask for a ground floor room if you book. It's handy for the ferry at Kirribilli Wharf and the train at Milsons Point
  3. Hi We are a couple in our early 50's who have relocated from UK to the Central Coast (Point Clare)and we would love to meet up with some people in the area. We have joined the local leagues club etc but find that it's not easy to get chatting to pepole. Any thoughts on how we can break in?? As we really love where we are!!!
  4. when we did the retune we did it as a first time install and Oz came up in the region options so it was dead easy! it's just those two that won't give us sound!!! could it be anything to do with HD??? Tried Germany and no channels even changed the language in audio but that didn't work either...
  5. So.. we tuned in our English tv it worked absolutely fine but for some reason we can't get sound on ABC news 24 or channel 1 ( the one with the sport). All the other channels work fine, can anyone help?
  6. Can you speak to the Nursing Director if the nurse manager is not being helpful? Also speak to nursing Admin if you have one there. Offer to do a refresher course on meds. I would take advice from the union as well. Medication errors are unfortunately, more common than people realise, but as you realised what had happened and brought to the attention of others quickly, and the patient suffered no harm, try not to worry to much.
  7. We too would recommend them! They are beyond fab and so are Burntwood I was really surprised to see this on FB!!! http://animalcouriers.wordpress.com/2014/01/23/beau-from-barnham-returns-to-sydney/
  8. Hi We moved to Gosford in November, there are lots of rentals around but lots of people chasing,so get your application packs ready. You will need one each for yourself and your husband, take photocopies of your passport, print off your electronic visa entitlement proof of income, referees, credit card and we found it helpful to write a covering application letter, you will need this for EVERY house you apply for even if they are handled by the same agent!! Also take copies of your husbands contract of employment. As soon as you can get your Medicare card and your NSW driving licences(dead easy just take your UK ones and passport and proof of where you are staying into the RTA office) as these help towards your 100 points. You will be asked for 4 weeks rent as a bond plus 2 weeks in advance but if you offer more this can get you over the line. Prices vary enormously anything from $220 a week for a small unit to $400 or more for a house, depends what you want. Most places will start at 6 months lease so you don't feel you have to get the perfect place straightway!! Remember also that the agents vet the applications, then give them to the landlord who makes the final decision. Having said all that you have picked a good spot, we are very happy here on the Central Coast!!
  9. HI Does anyone live in or around Gosford and commute to Sydney? If so how good or bad is it?
  10. Thanks for th einfo, went with go walkabout they were very helpful
  11. Hi I know this will have been asked before but can anyone pease recommend a company that is good value for one way insurance UK to Aus? Thanks!
  12. We are returning in a few weeks, my husbands visa label is in his old passport, so taking that and we have also printed off the confirmation of his renewed RRV to carry with us as well. If you follow this link http://www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/vevo.htm you can chack an electronic visa yourself(just follow the instructions) and you can print off verification, I think it works with all types. It worked when I did it!!
