Hey Sian, Thanks for the update.yes, I did mail the agency right away[ray white].I will check out the place that you stayed in too.Once I land out htere in Melbourne then will get in touch with them and fix my date of arrival in Albury.Yes, we are gonna find it really different out there coz we are coming from Mumbai where there is alot of population.I keep showing pics of Albury to my children so that they are not very surprised with the place.My daughter is feeling sad leaving india as she has alot of friends and is gonna miss all of them. Hi, I will be entering Oz [NSW] by the 23rd of April on a 475 visa.I am a teacher from India and will be living in Albury [murrey region ] as I have been granted a regional sponspored visa.What is the procedure for getting registered as this is the first thing I will have to do to get a job.Thanks.

Hey there, At last we have booked our tickets and leave on the 22rd of April from India.We may spend a couple of days in Melbourne and then head for Albury. Yes, I was very busy getting things organised.My family friends did drive down to Albury to check out the place and I got a very positive reply form them.Well, Just want a little help from your side.Would like to knoe if there are any churches around so that we can go to and where did you stay for the two weeks before you settled in your rental home?I would like to know the name of the hotel so that we too can stay there and check out some rentals around.Hoping for some response.Thank you.

There is lots of lovely areas in Albury. We liked West and East Albury best. Thurgoona is also nice but it is a bit out of town. But has everything there so is like a mini town. None of the agents will rent to you unless you are here. We were lucky as we had come in May and made contact and she was then able to organise it for us. But we stayed in a hotel for the first 2 weeks while we got the necessities in. We are on a 457. I know in Albury you have to pay 4500 per year on a 457 but in Wodonga you don't. We have Matthew in St Pats which is private and is around 1600 per year. That includes books etc. If I were you I would start registering with some of the employment agencies as it isn't that easy to get a job. So they will then have you in mind. In May the weather will be starting to get chilly again so keep wrapped up. It is the night times that get very cold. If you look at any house let me know and I can check the area they are in. Thank you so much for this information and the extended help.Yes, I have gone through some sites on renting a place.As you say it is very difficult and will have to be around there.I but will try and contact an agent to get things a bit organised from here.Regarding schooling my kids are 12 and 13yrs so I 'm not sure as what credentials are the schools looking for.Will they go to High school .If so then I will look up schools for that age group. Well, being a teacher I will have to fill up some forms to get my teaching qualifications registered and then will proceed from there.This can be done while in Australia.Well, Its gonna be a bit stressful at the start. I will go through some rental properties and mail you the details .Thanks a ton for all the information.

No, have not got the stamp on the passport as waiting for the corrected number on my husband's visa grant.I will find out here in mumbai by the embassy first about the stamp and then will proceed to delhi if needed.It saves me alot of time going to delhi. No, I DID not check the web site as there may be some good options on airlines here too.Willl have to check.I will definetly update you on that. regarding your new passport I think it is bettter if you get the stamp on the new one coz It will save us alot of time running around but make sure you inform the department.I did update my agent and on the form80 of the new passport number but I dON'T know how this happened.Any way I need not worry coz I have my grant and this change is not gonna make it difficult.The flight bookings are only worring me as the costing gets higher as we delay. Hey, I too will be landing into Oz around the first week of May.We are a family with two kids 12 and 13 yrs old.I will be headin to Albury.Accordingly which part of Albury is a better bet for residence as have to look at schools,shopping centre ect.It will be our first visit .

Had to fill in form as the visa granted had my husbands old passport number.Just want to know can I still book in for my air tickets as on the grant letter it mentions I have to enter Aus befor the 3rd of May.Do I still hang on for the the passport number to be changed on the grant letter or can I book my tickets?Haaa....... always some problem arising :eek:

Hey, I don't know much about Albury expect for the information that I got from the net.But, getting it from poeple living out there is different .Well, WE are from India.I will have to come out there and search for a job.I am presently working as a teacher out here in India .I guess it will take me a while to settle and look for a job.Firstly I will have to look for some rentals and then settle my kids in a school.Well since my kids are 12 n 13 yrs old I think its gonna be high school for them .Please confirm this for me.On a 475 visa can my kids go into a public school? Yes, regardin rentals I will have to be out there to search.HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT IT?and what are their procedures? Did you too go on a 475 visa.As I have been granted the same.According to you which part of albury is good for residentials,schools . I am supposed to enter befor the 5th of May2012..So, I guess we will leave by the end of April.That is when my school closes for the summer vacation.

Hey all, Been over thrilled with my visa grant today after 2yrs 5mths of waiting.
