Been hanging around for ages waiting to make our big move, HELLO Cal, finally the house sold and we move over 1/4/15. It's been a very long haul for us and the nerves and stress levels are rising with each passing day; that said I am trying to stay positive and motivated, as is my usual default cheery nature. Just trying to work out what I can reasonably do from this end before we arrive. Accommodation is booked, I am starting to contact employers for hubby and me and have started compiling a list of things I need to do when we get there! Likewise I'm interested in this thread. My experience is assertive outreach work in mental health/homelessness and addictions. I do have the relevant SVQ 111 qualification which I believe I will need to get it recognised for Aus work purposes????? Not sure how to do that yet but any advice or suggestions would be most welcome. Lorraine

Hi Stacey, have been to Oz twice, first time flew Emirates from Glasgow, fab service and would recommend although they are not the cheapest. Second time we flew KLM and Malaysian Airlines, I didn't enjoy the flights and for that reason wouldn't fly either again! We are leaving Glasgow in April and are flying with Emirates with a 1 hour layover in Dubai. Lorraine

We are a family of 4 plus our dog. Been in this process for a long time! Flights are booked, we leave the UK 1 April 2015 heading for Adelaide. In the process of trying to sort accommodation at the moment, starting to feel real now eeeeek! Lorraine

Hi, we are clan mac and we have been in this process for what seems like forever - long story short we got our 176 subclass state sponsored visa in March 2011. We validated the visa in July the same year. We put our house on the market early 2012 and have only sold this week! I thought that we would never get to Oz and it looked as though the house wasn't gonna sell. Have looked at some posts and I see that the visa process is changed and the new skilled migrant visa is a 189. Please God tell me that our 176 visa's are still valid?????????? I feel anxious and panickyto say the least, I checked our passports which state that we have until end of March 2016 to enter Australia. HELP PLEASE. Sincere thanks, Lola x

Hi Gaz, been manic since we got home trying to get the house ready to sell! South Australia is FANTASTIC - WE LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!! I will post photos soon. Gaz you and your family will be there now hopefully settled in and loving the life in South Oz. Hi Gill, August isn't that long away! You're gonna love it! We will be putting the house on the market when we return from Oz and we'll just have to see how long it takes to sell but I'd like to be over by Christmas! As far as the Oz winter goes - nothing will convince me that it's COLD. Come to Scotland in December that's cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That said I'm not planning any shopping trips in my bikini lol! Hi Paul, lots of peeps have put info re accom to rent on Poms in Adelaide. Thats where we found our rental and there seemed to be quite a lot, so hopefully you should find something there.
