Hey Gail just thought I would touch base with you and let you know we moved at the weekend. First day of school went well apparently for my 6 year old today. She seemed happy enough at pick up which was a relief as she loved her school in Melbourne.

Sounds like a plan - we would do the same with schooling but unfortunately for a number of work reasons it won't work out. Hope it is going well so far.

Hey Did you end up moving? If so, how are you finding it? Would love to hear more about it.We also have the chance to move to Canberra from Melbourne. We have been in Melbourne for 8 years now so quite settled here. We have a 6 year old, 2 year old and a 3 month old.

Hi Lianne, we probably passed you in the airport as we had a last minute trip to Rocky last week and came back to Melbourne yesterday. Our plane was delayed because of the storm and we only just made our connection! We had a really good trip and liked the place. So as long as the job offer comes through, I think we will also be joining you in January :smile: We are looking at the cost of shipping our stuff and cars etc or do we drive up.... Did you ship your car? if so, who did you use etc and was it straightforward? Good luck with starting the new job!

Great thanks Tina. We are going up to visit soon to look at schools etc as I think this will help determine where we live... I like the idea of being on the coast as we are very close to the bay in Melbourne but in the first instance, my hubbie doesn't want much of a commute. Of course, he might change his mind after visiting

great thanks dv4. We have been in touch with the girls grammar and the grammar and are planning on having a look at them and Frenchville. The neighbourhood advice is very useful as well. I think it is just a case of checking it all out next week when we are visiting and going from there!

My husband has just been offered a job at Rockhampton hospital and so we are planning on moving there in January :wink:. We have a DD who will go into grade 1 next year. Does anyone have any advice on which suburbs we should be looking at living in or recommendations for schools. We are currently in Melbourne and have been here 8 years after moving from the UK so no idea about QLD in general!

Hi it looks like we are moving up to Rocky in January! We have been in Melbourne for the last 8 years but my hubbie has just been offered a job at the hospital there. As I will be on maternity leave next year, looks like a good opportunity to go for an adventure for a few years! We have 2 kids - 5. 2 and one on the way! Any advice on schools, where to live etc would be fab

Hi, I live in Bentleigh and have a 7 month old baby. We have been living in Bentleigh since April this year (lived nr Brighton before that but moved here to get a bigger house) and so far we love it. There are quite a few nice parks within walking distance from the house, the local library has 2 baby rhyme time sessions a week where I have met quite a few other mums and there are a number of playgroups around - plus it is not too far from the beach! Hi, We are looking for a builder to replace a bay window with some french doors and replace a couple of windows. We want wooden frames and if we can afford it we will put in double glazing. Does anyone have any recommendations for reliable builders who could do this work?
