  1. Hi guys, Just as the title says.... Our stuff has arrived and is due to be delivered. The company we used in the UK use Grace here and I'm sure the rep in the UK told us they'd unpack and build beds etc. but I can't find it written down anywhere. Anyone have first hand experience? Thanks
  2. We're heading back to Oz from UK in July. We've got a 2010 7-seater to sell, low mileage. Looking at about £9500 which I know is more than you said but I just thought I'd through it out there. We're in central belt. PM if you need more info.
  3. Te policy is not available online. Or at least I couldn't find it. I called them up for a quote. They were very helpful.
  4. We're Scotland to Sydney and are paying around £4200 excluding AQIS fees but including 60 days storage on arrival. Most quotes we got were around this price give or take a couple of hundred. We chose the company as we used them before and were fairly happy with them. Hope this helps. A
  5. PS I stand to be corrected if I'm wrong.
  6. There is a reciprocal medical agreement in place between the UK and Australia so my understanding and limited experience is that if you are a UK citizen and require medical treatment before you formally register with Medicare then you are covered. This is of course only at Medicare rates and you have to meet any gaps in costs (as Is the case in the system anyway). Therefore the cover lasting 24 hours beyond clearing customs would suffice. we have booked with Post Office. Call them up direct and ask for a quote. They were very competitive. We were around £35 for a family of 4. hope this helps.
  7. My understanding is that they can't force you too. But I could well be wrong. We are using a different company from you but are not taking their insurance. Have had no issues with that.
  8. Apparently it's the limit set by the Audtralian authorities and as homewardbound588 says, household contents won't come close to that.
  9. Thought for completeness, I should update that having compared cover, we are thinking we will probably go with IYM. Thanks for all your input.
  10. Anyone ever experienced weight restrictions on shipping? We've booked a 20 foot sole use container with a reputable company. During the booking process there was no mention of weight restrictions, however, the booking form has arrived with a 7000lbs weight restriction. Anyone had this? We've moved before and never had weight restrictions. I have no way of estimating whether 7000lbs is a reasonable amount or whether we might go over? I will call company tomorrow and ask but thought I'd refer to the more knowledgeable on here!!
  11. Thanks guys... I have no balance on the card I'm thinking of. I just want to keep it to use whilst I travel (it is a great travelling CC) and I'd pay it off via my UK Account when I spend on it. B
  12. Has anyone kept their UK Credit Card and changed this to your new Australian address? I'm keen to keep my card as it is great for overseas spending when travelling. (Aus does not have a comparable one that I know of) I'm worried that if I notify of a change of address to Aus. they will tell me I'm no longer eligible to have the card and take it from me. B
