  1. My daughter is currently part way through a University Degree, and has a student loan. However, we will be immigrating to Australia this summer, before she completes her degree. Please can someone advise us on what we should do regarding her outstanding loan. When we get to Australia she will go back to University to continue her degree, so she is not in a position where she can repay her student loan in the UK, however, we do not know if there are any repercussions if she does this. Or if she does not repay at all, what could happen. If she does want to repay, would the UK be acceptable to waiting several years until she qualifies, and would then be in a position to repay in instalments. Any advice anyone can give us, we would be very grateful.
  2. Thanks for the honesty, I'm traveling over to Perth in June to meet my sponsor for the first time face to face, then we can take it from there, if you have any pointers you can throw my way all will be gratefully recieved
  3. Thanks for the info, went on the visa wizard found it very useful:biggrin:
  4. Hi all I am a 48 year old motor mechanic wanting to immigrate to Australia. I have been offered a permanent job in Perth WA on the basis that I sort all the documentation. The visa I need is a 187 visa direct entry, but apart from that I am not really sure what I need to do. If anyone can offer me any information I would be really grateful, as I do not even know if I have to do a skills test.
  5. Hi Matt Thank you so much for the detailed and frank response, after reading this I feel a lot more confident to proceed further, although I think I need to brush up on my resistors and A/C and D/C circuits Regards Don
  6. Thanks Ann, Lee lee, shauney and Daniel we will join you ASAP (God Willing) well Immigration willing
  7. Hi Matt Thank you for responding to my question. I would basically appreciate any information you could give me relating to the exam as I have no idea what to expect or revise, i.e. is it all a theory exam, and if so what the questions related to, or is it more a practical exam, and again, if so, what it was based on. I find that because both our jobs, which relate to completely different trades, come under the same Skills Test, I have absolutely no idea where to begin with revision. Any information you can provide will be gratefully appreciated, as we, as a family, are desperate to emigrate to Australia to be with my brother and his family. Thank you Don
  8. Hi all I am a fire alarm technician currently living in the UK, and have been offered a 187 work sponsored visa for Western Australia. However, I firstly need to sit the above skills test, and would be grateful for any assistance/advice from anyone who has either sat it, or is in the process of doing so. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer Don :arghh:
