  1. Hi not yet but he has spoken to our daughter and asked her what she wants to do. He has also previously said that he would give permission he work overseas so is out of UK a lot.
  2. Hello all I lived in Australia from 2005-2014 initially emigrating as perms at resident, my husband never settled and wanted to return to UK . We have now separated and I want to go back with our 13yo daughter ( it's 'home') We have citizenship which makes it easier, we have friends and family keen for us to come home . Others who want us to stay here- Any one else moved back?
  3. Hi we are moving back to the Uk and therefore selling our 2011 Nissan Micra St Owned from new, only ever made short journeys as it was our 'second car' .silver, Immaculate, low k's 34000, manual,Bluetooth, service history. located close to Bribie Island approx 20 mins from north lakes. if interested please get in touch . Looking for 10,000 ONO
  4. It's more whether we need to get him one really. We travelled to uk earlier in the year and he has a brand new australian passport. We are trying to find out whether he can enter on that one without a return flight.
  5. Hi we are considering sending our 16 yr old son back to the uk ahead of us so he can get settled into school ASAP - he will be heading to his grandparents. He has an australian passport but his br itish passport has expired. Do we have to get him a new uk one prior to entering the uk ? Can he enter with his australian one with his birth cert and a one way ticket or will they stop him. He is a very sensible and mature young man but we do not wish him to have difficulties on the journey. He turns 16 on the -15th January is it better he flies prior to his birthday so he is an unaccompanied minor, I'm told 16 is the cut off age.
  6. Thx Paul that's vey helpful advice, I guess I need to get CRB done ASAP
  7. We have citizenship but both child born in uk so have passports too. My husband has a British Army background,so keen for our son to join Brit army. He would have to apply to get into Canberra here and we have been warned that there is stiff competition for the small number of places . I've just looked at the officer recruitment in uk and it's seems a very similar process to oz. there also appear to be 6th form scholarships available too... is there anyone put there who has returned to successfully teaching in UK? Near impossible to secure a permanent post here unless you say you'll teach anywhere not easy to do with a family. only independent and church school advertise posts. I now teach kindergarten with very much less pay & longer hours just to have a regular wage.
  8. Hi I am a uk qualified primary teacher with (QTS) who moved out to oz with our family in 2005. It just hasn't worked out the way we thought it would over here , I've never been able to secure a FT teaching post, Husband has always been very keen to go back I'm wavering wondering what is the best thing to do.Our children also happy enough to go back one 16 one 10. My concerns are whether I would be able to get work, happy to do supply to gain experience and how our older child would get on at school, he has just completed grade 10 and does well. He want a to go to university/ army to do electrical/mechanical engineering degree and had planned to apply to the oz army officer training college in Canberra. We are thinking about moving back to Wales , brecon area. Any advice welcome:)
