  1. I have just been granted my temporary 820 (uk) partner visa. It says I will automatically be considered for a permanent visa two years from lodgement (commencement) date. Does this mean two years from when I applied for the visa or two years from when it was granted? Also , do I need to do anything? is there anything else I need to submit or will they automatically assess my application In two years? Thanks
  2. Just used John mason, absolutely fantastic. For a good exchange rate and very helpful. Contact Jack.
  3. I have just been granted my prospective partner visa and will be returning to Oz in the next few weeks. My PMV does not expire until Oct 2017 but we are planning on marrying in April 2017. I have read the information guide on the next stage of the process ie applying for the partner visa (temp) and it looks to be the same or very similar to the PMV application. i realise I need to supply marriage certificate and complete the application form and sponsor form again but can anyone advise me on how much evidence or what sort of evidence I will need to provide regarding the relationship as this was all provided for my PMV. I went into great depths about the start of our relationship, financial commitments , commitments to each other , household responsibilities etc do they need this all over again or is it a case of keeping them up to date with what is happening since the lodgement of the PMV? It's easy enough to send all relevant documents such as birth certificates as these were needed for the PMV Im just not sure what sort of evidence I need to provide other than a marriage certificate and documents. Many thanks
  4. Sorry. I seem to have got very confused!!i its a prospective marriage visa that I have applied for subclass 300.
  5. Could you clarify something for me please? Am I correct I thinking that when/if I am granted my partner visa I have to get married within 9 months? I have read this somewhere! Does the 9 months start from the date they write to me to say they have granted it or the date I enter back into Australia ? Many thanks
  6. Thanks for all the info. I am flying back to the UK and will be out of Australia for a few weeks at least sorting stuff out. I think I read somewhere that immigration will also give me timescales by which I have to return to Oz, but that shouldn't be a problem.
  7. Many thanks. I have booked my flight. I have tried to copy and paste the relevant paragraph regarding timescales but I can't. It actually says that you should remain outside of Australia for at least 5 working days in order to give us enough time to finalise arrangements. It also says, please note a round trip cruise does not constitute as offshore movement.
  8. Thank you... Maybe it's going to be a happy new year after all!
  9. I lodged my partner visa in Jan 2016. In the last mo th I have been asked to attend my medical. Results all clear on immiaccount. I have been asked to submit my police check, again all clear. As I am Currently in Australia and I made an offshore application they have now sent me an email asking me to leave the country so a decision can be made on my visa. They state a decision will be made with 5 days. My worry is that they will still say no. I can't think of any reason why they should but can they just say no or do they have to give reasons and justice there decision? Would I have some idea at this late stage if they were going to say no. Ie. Would they be querying something or asking for more information? We have supplied everything they have asked for and included as much as possible on the immiaccount checklist. Am am I just panicking now for nothing? Many thanks
  10. The application is being dealt with by Serbia but their timeframe is also 10 - 14 months. Is the medical and police checks the last thing they usually ask for and probably sounds like a daft question but do they still ask for these checks if they are going to refuse a visa? I can't think of any grounds for them to refuse mine but you never know!
  11. I lodged my partner visa in January 2016 and I have now been asked to send in my police checks and have my medical. These have all been submitted with no issues. Does anyone have any idea of timescales for hearing whether a visa is going to be granted? I am assumming that because they have now requested these I am getting somewhere closer? Many thanks
  12. Thank you. Mine has just been updated to say all ok and no further action. So it does take about a week.
  13. Does anyone know how long it takes after attending your medical the information is updated in your Immi account? BUPA website says up to 5 days to send in the info but it has now been over a week and my immiaccount is still saying examinations in progress. I am probably panicking for nothing as there shouldn't be any issues but I would like to see that it has been sent in successfully. Many thanks
