Hey everyone, Great to hear about all the recent visa grants. There are flights out there for those who are looking, just persevere. My son who was in the UK studying recently when back, and although his flight to Perth was expensive, it was within reason. He went with Singapore Airlines. On the flip side we’ve been waiting since June 16, 51 months and nothing yet. It’s extremely disheartening. Any news on anyone receiving the request for further documents would be great !!! Nita 16 -
Hi, Thanks Alan and Marisawright for your replies, they are very much appreciated. In response our son is our sponsor and he is single. However, he has taken a year off work to continue further study. Whilst he meets the income requirement for the previous year, this year may be a problem, hence the need for another assurer. The second assurer is a family friend who is also single but still lives in his family home in Australia. I understand that they both need CRN numbers from centre link but I don’t know the process or how a joint application can be made. Thank you for the heads up about parents providing the bond but giving to a family friend. It is for this reason we would like our son to be a joint assurer. Any advice is helpful and much appreciated. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi all, It’s been some time since I posted anything but it’s great to see the progress being made despite what’s going on in the world. We applied for our 143 visa 26/06/16 and thought it would be a good idea to get our ducks in a row. My question is about our assures as we need to have joint assures. Can anyone help with this. How do we go about this? Any information/help with this will be gratefully received. Thanks in advance :))

Hi everyone, Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I have not posted a message recently but I wanted to let all the regular posters know how much I, and I am sure everyone, appreciates the effort and time you all give to this thread. The information you provide is invaluable, in particular to those who have received their visas and requests to further documents. To help others at a time when there are a million other things going on is very thoughtful and kind. Whilst the visa process is taking much longer than we anticipated when we first applied, we can only look forward to exciting times. Thanks again, Nita 16

Hi all, What a great thing to do, so well done for the hard work. Congratulations to all who have had visa grants and to all those who have had documents requested. It's great to such movement after the incredibly slow progress of 2014. Also, thanks to the posts on health insurance, very informative. It's great to hear from so many recently so I thought it was about time I sent a post even though I think OH and I have sometime to go. Roll on 2016 Nita16

Hi Alan, Thanks for your reply to Bre, however I must admit your estimate has got me worried. When we applied the waiting time was about 24 months, which has now risen to approximately 36 months. Are you anticipating the waiting times to lengthen? I only ask so we can plan for our remaining time in the UK. It's difficult for us to go on the temporary visa. Whilst waiting is frustrating, it's more frustrating not knowing when our visa will be granted. Thanks for replies to the many queries including this one, and I am sure others appreciate your imput as much as I do. Lovely to hear about everyone's plans and progress on their journey to Oz. Hey everyone, It's been some time since I contributed to this thread. Great to see it up and running. I was getting random emails about the posts but today they were regular. Well done everyone involved in the update, it must have been quite daunting. It's a shame that the processing time has slipped a month, I was hoping that it had gained a month.On a positive note, at least we can see them now. It's wonderful to see so many of you making plans for the summer. It's also a pleasure to hear from Julie and her experiences from making it on the other side of the whole process. I always enjoyed reading these posts because they were so informative and practical. We (husband and I) asked a migration agent about the e600 visa as we were a little perplexed about how it works. I think I still am :)) I gathered from what she said that you can only stay 12 months out of an 18 month period, 6 months of which must be spent out of Australia. This tallies with what I read. We decided to just go for 3 month visa when we are ready. Although six months does sound wonderful. Best wishes to all that are heading out, have a great time. Keeping fingers and toes crossed that the processing time speeds up. Nita

Hi, I thought I would contribute to this post as most of is on point but the OP does need to relax and try not to over think. I am British born and bred but am also Indian and Hindu to make it more confusing my family are also East Africans so where ever I go I am a minority. The point is discrimination exists everywhere but basically people are the same everywhere with their aspirations and fears. We have to learn to accept differences and see the best. If my OH and I are fortunate and emigrate to Australia, I will be scared but I will embrace the life there because I chose to go there. So try to relax and remember there's a reason why you want to move to Australia.

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask a question about the long stay subclass 600 visa, if anyone could help I would be very grateful. My other half read that you have to be sponsored and that a bond, determined by immigration has to paid, is that correct ? Thanks in advance for your replies, Cheers, Nita

Hey Kaths56, totally agree with your comments. We applied June 2016 and since then the pound has fallen in value and the queue has become even slower if that was possible. It really does feel as if we are limbo. All we can do is hope things improve. cheers.

I haven't worked in either of these two places but I have two sons and this is advice is what I have given them as both have had to consider on working outside the uk. I have never been a big fan of Dubai other than a short holiday. I agree with Wooba, think about it from a long term perspective. Whilst the idea of walking in to a job is attractive and the money may be good, if it is only for the short term, it is an option. However, for a more permanent change or the possibility of it, Australia may be scary in the beginning but could provide you with a better future. Also, you have lived there before so whilst you don't a job having lived there should give you confidence. My son was just out of uni and had never left home. He flew out without hardly knowing anyone, just one aquaintance. The airline was being a real pain and counted his laptop bag as luggage so we had to empty his suitcase of all toiletries to reduce weight. That was nearly five years ago but it was the right decision. Hope it helps. Nita
