  1. Hi I have recently left OZ to return to the UK and was on a 457 visa. I have about $15,000 in a super fund and will be owed tax too from this year ($3,000 ish). I am currently filling out a 1194. Anyone have any advice as to whether I should apply for my tax and super myself, or just go to one of the online companies (expresstaxback or similar)? It seems much simpler to just cancel the visa and let a company do it, but I don't know how much they charge for that amount of super and tax return Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks
  2. Hi So it seems that the tax on people claiming their super after being here on a working holiday visa will be taxed at (up to) 95% although I have read it will probably be a little lower, than the current tax of about 38%. I am just wondering if that will effect other temporary working visas too as the wording of the bill doesn't seem to specify visa numbers. I am here on a 457 (although spent one year on a working holiday visa) and am not applying for PR or citizenship and will likely leave at the end of the visa, but was considering super payments part of my salary and relying on withdrawing them after I leave. Does anyone know if it will effect people in my position or if people who agreed on terms before July 2017 (when the bill will officially start) will be affected Any advice would be appreciated Thanks
  3. Just wondering if I were terminate my employment with the 457 sponsoring company, would I be able to work for 90 days as a casual employer for a different company in a different role? 2 examples I can think or might be 1 - whilst looking for a new job, could I just do some casual work to pay the bills until finding a new sponsor in the timeframe of 90 days or would my first job have to be with a new sponsoring company? or 2 - If I decide to leave Oz before finishing the 457 contract, could I leave my job and spend 90 days working casually before leaving the country? Thanks
