I have accepted an offer on my UK flat but it hasn't progressed to exchange of contracts or had a completion date agreed as yet. I think it is unlikely to by the end of March when I arrive in Aus. It is my main residence and I don't have any other properties, are there likely to be any tax issues I should be aware of in either the UK or Aus as a result of the sale completing after my arrival in Aus?

Thank you all for the suggestions, I am now on the waiting list for both catteries - completely forgot it was Easter time and places are booked up already. Fingers crossed I find something soon, might even consider using a relocation agent to find a flat for me (shudder at the cost though).

Thank you, they arrive in Aus on 31 March and so the 9 April arrival in Sydney includes the quarantine time and the flight to Sydney - best case scenario all going well for them.

I am moving to Sydney on 1 April and my two 11 month old cats are due to arrive on 9 April from Melbourne. This doesn't give me much time to find accommodation so as an absolute last resort if I cannot find temporary accommodation for us all, I am going to have to consider putting them into a cattery until I find a rental. Does anyone have any recommendations for a cattery in the Manly area or surrounds?

I am arriving in Sydney on 1 April and am able to stay with family, my two 11 month old cats are scheduled to be arriving in Sydney on 9 April. Unfortunately the building my family stays in doesn't allow pets and after staying in a cattery in the UK, a flight to Melbourne, quarantine and another flight to Sydney I am loathe to put them into another cattery. Does anyone have any links or ideas as to temporary accommodation in the Manly, Fairlight, Queenscliff area that would accommodate myself and my moggies whilst I look for a longer term rental. I should add they are indoor cats having only known my 1 bedroom flat in London and would continue to be so in Sydney. Alternatively can anyone recommend a really good cattery in that area?

Thanks both, I think what worries me is the contingency on showing work ties and whether two months working would be sufficient. Do you know if it is possible to apply for a 189/190 visa if you already hold a 176? I am looking at worst case scenario here.

My skilled visa (176) will expire in June 2017 and unfortunately due to personal circumstances I have not been able to move over. I am now looking at going in April 2017 and as I travel quite a bit for work and likely will need to once I'm in Aus I am thinking of applying for a 189 or 190 visa as I don't want to be restricted in my travel. Can I do this whilst my 176 visa is still valid?
