Hi! I applied for defacto 457 as a secondary applicant on my boyfriend’s visa. The application was processing for a year and before it was granted I withdrew it due to the breakdown of our relationship. I’ve since left and am now a student and have met an Australian — we are in a relationship. Is it possible for me to apply for the partner visa in 2 years time? This is when my student visa ends. I understand I’ve never applied for a partner visa before, so this should be okay.

Thanks for your help! I'm working with a creative recruitment agency that are keen to get me work and are aware of my desire to gain sponsorship. Quick question: they're aware I have no degree, and less than five years experience - is this a huge problem? It hasn't deterred them. I'm coming on a WHV to gain work in Jan.

Thank you. I've heard mixed reports from people saying I should have 5 years experience then to fill my lack of degree. Is this correct? For the 457 visa I mean. Thank you for your help.

I'm a Copywriter, with no degree. I've applied for several jobs online and have been invited for interviews, but none are willing to sponsor me off the bat as I'm not in Australia yet. So despite the positive start to the process, I'm hoping I'll be able to gain sponsorship (during/after a WHV) purely because it's such a creative industry and there's a genuine need for creative copywriters. In essence, the plan is to gain experience and work my ass off to prove myself. Who said anything in life would be easy, right? :rolleyes:

Anyone else still battling on this front? Would love to know the results of the applications etc as I am on the exact same boat.

Thank you for the help - I appreciate it, a lot. None of them have offered sponsorship, it'll be a case of 6 months of employment and then they'll assess the option of sponsorship. Thankfully, none of the jobs I have applied for have required any qualifications, so surely that would aid my case with the 457 visa?

Hi all! I'm a Copywriter, which is currently on the CSOL list. Sadly, despite being more than capable, I cannot get the Skilled Migration Visa as I do not have a degree. In the last week I've applied for two jobs in Melbourne and Sydney, both expressed interested in me quickly with one wanting me to come for an interview tomorrow (until he realised I am not in Australia yet). However, they would like me to come in to see them when I do in arrive in the country. So, long story short - I know lots of people say it's so so hard to get work when you're on the WHV, but will this hinder me if I am applying for jobs that are on the CSOL? If I do the job well, will that potentially increase my chances of sponsorship, seeing as they desperately need Copywriters? :confused: Ps. My brother is a permanent resident - if anyone even knows of any way he could sponsor me, that would be awesome as he's more than happy to! Darn the whole thing is so confusing lol - thank you for your help! xx

Hi! I can't find anywhere else to post this - so I'll keep it short my brother is an Australia resident (about 10 years now), married to an Aussie with an Australian business. I'm a Copywriter, searching for jobs and will take a working holiday visa in the new year unless I gain work before then. Out of curiosity, is there any way my brother could sponsor me down the line? I hope this is ok to post this here - thank you so much!
