  1. Hi Peeps, I am an Aussie expat who lived in the UK for 20 years I have since migrated back to Australia. I am now working in an established Therapy centre on the beautiful Mid North Coast on NSW. We have two exciting opportunities for sponsorship which I wanted to share with members PomsinOz. Our advertisements can be found on the links below for further information. Applications can be sent to practicemanager@access-potential.com.au https://www.facebook.com/job_opening/391672395315369/?source=share https://www.facebook.com/job_opening/1051289411991427/?source=share
  2. That's not unusual. Just keep adding files and evidence to all of the sections in immi. We didn't hear a thing until the grant was approved 6 months after we submitted.
  3. Yes and yes. You need to do police checks for applicant and sponsor. If the sponsor has resided in Australia in the last 10 years you need that too. Do Not wait for requests or your application will be delayed. Aim to upload something into every section of the immi upload area. You can click on the drop down boxes to see examples of what types of information is required. Get it all in there!
  4. I'm so sorry to hear your grants not in yet!...gggrrrr...how horrid for you! I don't think RFI applications go to the back of the que. Rather they go to a new RFI que. I'm not sure how many spousal visas the Aussies get each year but I think it's probably in the tens of thousands. So where applications have queries I would think they are moved to a separate pile to be validated. This then causes the backlog as it seems more applications have queries than not, so those with RFI essentially are more plentiful in quantity and take longer to process. Where the RFI needs validation from another agency or organisation this further adds to the timeframe. I truly hope your grant arrives soon. Your in Oz now arnt you? How is it? Hope your enjoying the weather [emoji16]
  5. I also have been in the UK for several decades. An Australian police check is NOT required if you have resided outside Australia, as the Aussies only check last 10years history. You can find conformation of this by searching Australia police checks. You are required to submit police checks for any country you have been resident of in the last 10years. So if you have only lived in the UK your ACRO report is sufficient.
  6. Any birth certificate is fine, upload all her information into one pdf. This might be her UK birth certificate, her Australian citizenship certificate and any other relating documents which validate her Aussie status. She dosn't need an aussie birth certificate to be Australian. They are just asking for her original birth certificate from where ever it was issued.
  7. Yes to both. Put something in every category that applies to you. The more you give them the less chance they need to ask for anything, which will delay your application. More info the better!
  8. Can anyone recommend a professional CV writer? I'm looking for someone to overhaul a cv for a building maintenance manager (extensive management experience with trades and social housing in the UK) to target facilities management jobs in Australia. Not sure if we should use a UK based service or an Aussie one as the industries do have differences. Anyone have any suggestions or advise? Thank you
  9. NEARLY THE WEEKEND AGAIN!! HAPPY FRIDAY!!! Good luck everyone!! Fingers crossed there is golden ticket delivery today for someone
  10. Best of luck Ben, please keep us posted. I'm sure there are lots of people here rooting for you!! I hope it doesn't spoil your introduction to Australia. We are hard buggas at times but it will be so worth it once you arrive!! Putting good vibes out there for you.
  11. Ah, that's rubbish Ben34uk!! So sorry to hear of the technical issues you have had. I have seen in this thread someone else who had documents disappear off their account. Is there a complaints department? Are you able to submit a formal complaint to get current status on your application/appeal and lodge a grievance? Have you tried contacting your partners local PM in Australia for some support? Just an idea
  12. Hi Ben34uk, Do you mind me asking what the complication is that has resulted in an appeal? You don't have to give personal info of cause, but I'm just wondering if this is something the rest of us can avoid by you sharing?
  13. I called a private migration agent on Friday to check what our options may be if the 309 is not granted by the time we need it in September. I was wondering if there is a bridging visa for spouses who are waiting for 309, but unfortunately, there is no other option. My husband has been delaying looking for work due to the visa process as we did not want him to find work that he could not accept. The agent advised him to start looking for employment and double end our applications if he was lucky enough to find a job that would also give a working sponsorship. However, it was the agent's opinion that the spousal 309 would probably beat a work sponsor visa at this stage. The agent's guestimate was that we should hear this month or next for RFI and confirmed trends were about 6months for London applications. Fingers crossed for some news this week. Like @ga_brysia I'd just be happy to see someone receive a grant so we know the queue is still moving. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
  14. We feel the same, my poor hubby going spare now as I will have to go without him in September as the children start new schools and I am moving my business so we can't keep waiting. He can't afford to give up his job and be unemployed in Oz so it's a difficult time. I think we just keep taking it one day at a time, in pure hope that at any moment it could be our turn [emoji847][emoji120]
