Hello, I'm a doctor from the UK currently working in NSW, in the process of applying for PR. I am confused as to which category my profession would fall into. I work as a registrar, i.e. not a specialist. Should I therefore select 'Medical Pracitioner nec' (code 253999) which will enable me to apply through the 189 visa pathway, or does this code only apply to specialists? The other option is 'Resident Medical Officer' (code 253112) which would mean applying through the state sponsored 190 visa pathway. Many thanks, Anna

Thanks all for the advice, have booked academic just to be safe as am applying for the skilled visa as a medical professional. As far as I'm aware I only need to get a 7+ in all domains in order to have enough points to apply but this way I'll be covered if it is needed for skills assessment too hopefully.
