Hi all, for what it's worth, here's my update. We've decided against taking any furniture. For what we've got (cheap and functional) it is cheaper or similar to buy new stuff that to ship it. We're down to 10 cub meters (estimated). The two best quotes so far are from Kent ($3600) and Crown ($4500). We liked the service from Crown better as we had a nice bloke come out and have a look around and took the time to understand our requirements well. Kent did not do a home visit. However, it's hard to justify the extra $900 with Crown. Grace were not as good. They wanted to fit us into their solution, and when they got the message that we weren't taking furniture, were still much more expensive ($5500). So, we'll probably go with Kent. Cheers, M

Hi all, I'm new to this forum. I've had a good root around and there's lots of info on Oz to UK shipping, but less and less recent info on Oz to UK. I thought I'd start a thread to capture updated info. Please take part if you have recent info to share. My house: town house, four beds and garage. My family, two adults and three kids under 5. So far, I've asked got quotes from Grace and Sevenseas MoveCube. Grace quoted to $8000 including packing. This was for what they termed as 122 items (one box is 1 item, one transit pac is 4 or 8 items etc -not sure yet what a transit pac is). Seems to be a door to door service, with unloading on both sides, including up two stories for our flat in Glasgow). MoveCube was more like $3000k, where they just dump a MoveCube (Large:Height 1.871m Width 1.464m Length 2.264m Volume 6.20m³) outside your house, ship it to the South of England and then organise a separate company to drive it to your location. Clearly, it's not a like for like comparison, but I've asked for quotes from Crown and Kent based on recommendations in this forum. I'll update as I go. Cheers, M
