  1. Hi I hope this might help. We arrived in September and after looking around a few of the schools and their grades and ratings, we decided the best school in the area for our 11 and 14 year olds was Pacific Lutheran College. Although it's a private school , it is a lot cheaper than in the Uk. Plus it's 5 mins drive from the new hospital!
  2. oh dear no we haven't just going offer things we have read on forums etc any advice on a better place much appreciated???
  3. Good morning We have just been granted our 189 visa and was wondering if anyone could help me out on the best schools state or private for an 11yrs and 14yrs around caloundra or buddina area? Also any advice on which areas would be best for us to rent a house? We are looking at renting a holiday rental for 3or 4 weeks In the first instance and then a short term rental until we find our feet any suggestions on where to find information ?? thank you toni
  4. Thanks Cal. We are heading to the sunshine coast. Don't know exactly which part yet??/ So any advice from anyone on here would be great. need a good school for 11yr and 14yr
  5. Hi sorry for late reply we have been out celebrating :ssign19:. It was extremely quick 2 weeks 4 days!!! I front loaded pcc and medicals. We are soo excited!1
  6. Sooo excited we found out this morning we have been granted our 189 visa yay!!:ssign19::ssign19::smile::jiggy:
  7. Sorry forgot to mention. I have 12 years experience as a cabinet maker. But I have no formal qualification, therefore the TRA view the first 3 years as an unofficial apprenticeship ( backed up by my employer) meaning I can only claim 9 years experience.
  8. Hi here is our situation it might help you a bit. i am applying for a 189 visa as a cabinet maker i have rcvd a positive skills assessment from Acts. My migration agent advised me to apply for a PTA (points test advisory) from the TRA. This apparently will confirm to our case officer at visa application stage that we have the relevant experience to match the Australian qualification awarded during skills assessment. we are currently 5 weeks into a possible 12 week wait for the result from the TRA.
  9. Hi sorry didn't mean to panick you I've just seen you post on another thread too. We have been adviced to be extra sure as the acts certificate doesn't give years of experience like others will have with a TRA assessment. This is because hubby is self employed and agent thinks it best to be sure by proving experience to the TRA ! However I think if you have wage slips you should be fine ? ( but that's just my opinion hopefully someone else with more experience can confirm for you ) .
  10. Hi yes skills assessment all done and ielts top scores? we have lodged EOI and now have an invite for a 189 we were told by our agent to get a points test advisory from the TRA so we are waiting on that to come back before we lodge our visa application .
  11. ps I can't seem to open the link for the police check don't suppose you have a website reference thanks again
  12. hi Debs congrats on your visa, that was fast between application and them granting. Thanks for explaining could I just ask did you go with an agent or alone? Who did you book your medical in with and is it easy to open an immi account?
