Be mindful that there's hundreds of people in your trades scratching around for work over here! I've spoke to so many that have had to uproot the family from one end of Oz to another in the search for work and may have to move on again! Many have been out of work for months! Lots of desperate people willing to do anything! Don't believe the hype that there's a shortage and your skills are in demand, plenty in the que before us mate! Not trying to put you off just wanting to make you aware!

As long as you have a postal address doesn't have to be an oz one either.

I've just had a quote for 40ft container, them packing without insurance from Darwin to Uk for $15,000! :rolleyes:

We didn't have an address before our belongings set off and we didn't have an address until they actually reached Australia, all was ok for us!

Thanks for your honesty Keith and Linda, we will have a think. Just for the record though we keep the house in an immaculate state as if it were our own. The landlord will have nothing to repair, it will ready to rent straight away!

Wow! Lots of different feelings now, you've left me slightly confused! I don't want to leave the landlord in a mess! I'm an honest person and I can see it from the landlords perspective too! But I too am making a substantial lose each week that I cannot recoup! So I'm seeking the right thing to do.....so if I give notice now, will they be able to make us homeless in a couple of weeks......I wanted to give lots of notice so they had time to start advertising. I understand I maybe liable to pay rent until lease ends but I was hoping that this won't be the case if they/we find someone to take over given the amount of notice we would be giving! :eek:

Hi again! So we have took the bull by the horns and booked flights back, but four months before lease ends! My question is, do we tell the agent now and give them three and a half months notice or wait? Unsure what to do! :0/

we are in Darwin too, $900 for a quarter! Nearly fell off my chair when i opened it! Do have a pool though but we are very tight with running things!:eek:
