  2. Hi all, I have a quick question: I had my interview and test passed 100% and was in and out within 20mins, I took my test at a local Centrelink office on June 01st, was told there is no outstanding checks on June 24th, my question is, does the approval take significantly longer if your test is at a Centrelink office, I see from this thread that people get approved the same day... am I just unlucky or has this been the case for others that have tested at Centrelink offices. (I am remote so no other option).
  3. Hi I had my test on the 01st June at a Centrelink office, passed and was told would be uploaded to there system in a few days....I am still waiting! Application still says received. I have called them and was advised that I would of heard by now if they needed more information, so its just a waiting game, was advised to call back if remains the same after 8weeks.
  4. Hi Sammy, I am om a 489 Visa in NT. Schooling is free for state school but there are schools that are fee paying. depending on the age of your children/child i would strongly recommend looking at the NAPLAN results for the schools in the area your interested in moving to. Healthcare - You are covered by NHS (Medicare reciprocal agreement) however this does not cover you like the NHS for everything, its not part of the 489 Visa conditions to have private healthcare, however having done lots of research and speaking with lots of agencies, visa holders, permanent residents etc, if hospital care was needed due to my 489 visa status i would be faced with hefty bills. I have private healthcare as i wanted to ensure that should my child need medical care she would get it no matter what and i wouldn't have to be concerned about how i was going to pay for it.... Hope this helps, it sounds very daunting but its most defiantly worth it .
  5. I sat IELTS numerous times and have several higher education qualifications, I had to achieve 8's in all 4 subjects and got 9 in all but all on separate occasions were i would get 3 x 9's and 1 7.5, even in speaking (which was ludicrous as its my first language being from the UK) so i researched and came to the conclusion that a lot of people have the same issue, i then sat the Pearsons test and got 90 in all subjects (79 in all 4 to pass) . Good luck and keep at it, its worth it!
  6. Hi, I am currently on a 489 visa. From lodgement it took 10 weeks. Regards Julie
  7. Hello, I would like some advice please. Myself, my partner and our daughter (she will be 4 when we arrive) will be moving from UK to Darwin in Jan 2017 we have arranged some temporary accommodation for 4 weeks when we arrive, but I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on nice areas for families to settle down in, I am also keen to find out about good schools and the areas they are in. If anyone has any good advice it will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks julie
