If we apply for a permanant residency visa or a state sponsored visa do we have to have a medical examination? I am a heart patient in the UK. Something that happened when I was a baby and I havent had any problems since but have to have annual check ups but thats it. Just wondering if this would cause problems applying for visas or would there be any extra costs involved?

Schhol and area questions I have been looking at the catchment areas for certain high schools. The schools I have been looking at our Willeton High school John Curtin high school Meliville senior school Rossmoyne senior school The areas to live in for these scools (well some of them) are: Riverton/Willeton/Bull creek/Bicton/East fremantle/Palmyra/north fremantle/Attadale/Willagee/Rossmoyne/Bretnwood Can anyone advise what the areas are like to live in for a family with two children and what the schools are like. If any of them are private schools then they can get ruled out. My daughter will be high school age but my son will be primary school so need to make sure there are good primary schools nearby to that he would get into. If anyone can recommend primary schools around the above areas to that would be great :smile::smile:

How much is it to get your hair cut/coloured etc? Are there shops like we have home bargains or superdrug over in the UK? How much is public transport buses/trains etc?

Hi What costs are involved in renting a property. Obviously there is the rental costs, the upfront bond/deposit. What about utilities gas/electric/water etc roughly how much do these cost or is it provided by the property owenr? Do you pay council tax?:smile:

Another question!! On a skilled independent or skilled sponsored visa there are no school fees to pay is that right? Can anyone recommend any good primary and high schools around the Attadale, Bicton, East Fremantle areas or surrounding areas?

Hi Can anyone tell me what taxes you pay on wages is Oz? SAY ON A SALARY OF $70,000 what would be typical take home pay after tax, super, medicare etc? Also what happens in regards to UK pensions? Is the Super the equivalent of a pension? Thanks

Hi. We are looking to move to Australia in the next few years. Would be looking to live in Fremantle, Attadale, Bicton but work maybe in Perth city.
