  1. Hi Iam a native English speaker and have to admit i did the general for points and academic for Aphra as could not get clarification of english speaking of five years from high school. I got 7.5 on all for academic but didnt reach 8 for points so rather than try againmy agent told me to do general for points and in all honesty i found the general a breeze compared to the academic!Good luck.

    Open return date

Hi all need to fly back to the uk on saturday and just wondering if you can buy a return ticket with no date of return?
  3. Can only say from personal experience but i only needed to complete a stat dec on arrival which they did on the spot during my showing at the office! Best to email your case officer though as everyone has had different experiences.Good luck.
  4. We are in perth just showed up at a the office filled in a form, showed identity documents, had photo paid fee and licence sent in post very easy. Good luck in your new country!
  5. Having friends here did make the move easier however we are a very strong family unit and i beleive we would be in exactly the same place we are now. It is not an easy move and you stumble across many emotions but still iam a strong believer in if you dont try you will never know! At least if we do decide in a few years oz is not for us we go back, and yes we have invested a lot of money in the move but also we were prepared financially prior to coming that we have enough to make the move back! Life is to short for regrets and u dont want to spend ur life wondering what if. Hope it all works out, only you can decide what is right for u and your family.
  6. I have been very lucky in that sense as i have genuine friendships here in perth as a few friends of our emigrated years ago and have been so good with us!
  7. Can relate to all these feelings, and after 6 months in perth still can. I feel so guilty on a daily basis that i have brought my children a million miles away from their grandparents and feel very selfish for doing so! Agree with the other posts that see it has a temporary measure we agreed that we would come as its something we both have always wanted to do and would regret it if we didnt, get citizenship and if we or one of us have not settled then we go back but we all have the chance to return if we found out going back home was the wrong decision! I must emphasise the plan u agree prior to leaving is often hard to stick to when in oz and i often feel i could pack up and just go back tommorrow due to homesickness! However i tell myself everyday that this is somewhat exagerated as A) we spent far more time with family and friends the 6months prior to leaving on the account we were emmigrating which in realisation made things harder as prior to the decision we would not see family on a regular basis B) Its only the fact that u cant go to ur friends or family for a cuppa if you wanted not the fact that u did, as i never did! Everything gets over-emphazied when in oz due to the homesickness and thats what i try to keep telling myself! I am almost sure if i went home and back into normal routine then i would crave to come back! Dont think the homesickness ever goes away when u migrate u just learn to accept it and i think guilt comes with parenting whatever decision yoy make! Iam faced with the fact that if i dont settle after 4 years then my daughter will be 18 and may decide to stay or vice versa, my son will be 16 so i could end up with a family of my own miles apart which really upsets me but this is only what we have done to our families right?? Be sure its what you want deep down as when you arrive, settle or not life is never the same weather good or bad as far as i can see you will miss things from both countries where ever u live. Best of luck Loulou
  8. Great news christmas in the sun Stressful but very exciting good luck with the move
  9. Thanks all it good to hear from those who have been in this circumstance as being my eldest teenagers are a whole new parenting level! I have considered all of the above and sure agree with many! Thanks again knew emigrating at her age would be difficult but this was a very unexpected blow! She is refusing to even consider private schooling amd i know as a mother we have the ultimate say but when your child is attending school with no issues (meaning she goes happily) i dont want to have problems with her attending private school! Thanks all will keep you updated! First stop is head of year!
  10. Any advice helps thanks you! Yes exactly what i thought! I know what she is saying about school and the students is true as my 12 year old son has confirmed this however he is doing fine! I will be speaking to here head of year to confirm here concearns 2! I have met her friends and they appear a nice bunch of girls but my sin as also confirmed some of them smoke weed! I know she would probably be in the same situation in the UK but feels they would be doing this at school! Overall she also says she hates australia as her life us no different and infact worse as she misses everyone! We have had no big dilemas with her just when i mentioned the way she was speaking ( bad language) this all unravelled and she got really upset! Just in shock because i have been so oblivious to this as she appeared happy!
  11. Ok where to start! My 14 year old has just said that she hates australia and wants to go back to the UK which was a huge shock! We have been here 6 months and i thought she was the happiest out of us all! She has said that school is a waste of time as she does no work, her friends smoke weed, wag and drink and according to her so does the majority of students! She says her grades are also slipping! I find she is starting to use inappropriate language which she says she has to in order to fit in! She is happy enough going to school and she gets upset when i mention private schooling. I dont like the changes i see in her and when i mentioned this she got upset and told me she wanted to go home and didnt want to tell us as we all liked it here! Just dont know what to do! Has anyone else experienced this?

  14. Hi we emigrated to perth in may, neither my husband, children or myself had any serious health problems all i brought was a script of current medications abd immunisation records for rhe four of us and have had no issues. Good luck with ut all!
  15. Hi all sorry for the late reply only just seen these posts, so sorry if its to late to help! I presented at perth office with my in principle registration, stamped passport, copy of visa grant letter, used my lease for house rental as proof of address and uk driving licence. Had to complete a stat dec at that point for the COGS. I had no job offer or job lined up. After a few days i reveived zn email to say i had to complete a new fit 2 work! Did this straight away then it took approx 3 weeks in total from time of presenting to receiving an email informing me I was on the register! Good luck all AHPRA was no doubt the most stressful part of the whole process!
