Hi, Does anybody know of any available short term accommodation anywhere in Melbourne? We will be arriving on the 28th October and are looking for somewhere for 4 weeks. Enough room for 2 adults and 2 kids. Many thanks

Hi, We are also moving to Melbourne in October. Who did you go with for your short term rental? We have made contact with a few agents via Domain and they have been very helpful so that may be worth a go to answer your questions? Some agents will let you agree a lease from the Uk if you have someone in Melbourne who can view the property.

Hi, My wife, two kids(3&5) and myself are moving to Melbourne from the UK in October. I will be working in Campbellfield and hopefully commuting by motorbike, we would like to live close to the beach. can anyone recommend any nice beach suburbs and advise on commuting times? I will be starting at 7:30, will I miss the morning rush? Also does anyone know of any short term rentals, maybe a month, while we find a long term rental. Any advice will be appreciated. We got an email on the last day of June saying they were full for the year, then we were granted today. In the comments on the tracker people have phoned immi to check everything was filled in correctly and have then received a grant 15 minutes later. Maybe worth a try!

As long as you activate within 12 months of your Police checks or medical you have 5 years in which to make the move. You need to be a resident for 2 years I believe to apply for citizenship so you can travel in and out at will. Otherwise you need a Right to return visa. We have to activate before the end of May and have to be there by May 2020.

Visa granted this morning:wink:, good luck to those waiting. Just the house to sell now and maybe a trip in August to activate visa's and have a good look round.

Hi everyone, first time on here. Received an email overnight from the Adelaide office telling us that my ocuupation (Electrician general) is nearing it's limit for 2014-15 and that processing times will be longer than advised. They advise us to keep an eye on the immi site for news on our occupation. Seems a bit strange seen as the new year starts tomorrow!!! Hopefully this means we will be grated tomorrow and not taken of the list. We applied on the 13th of May with all documents uploaded including Police checks and Medicals by the start of June.
