  1. Thanks all I have decided it's not ideal to be up at 4:30am on a work day worrying about something I can do little about at the moment.. I had to rely on more than my usual amount of coffee to get me through!! Quoll...I will definitely not change our plans until I have to. The kids are on holiday till Jan/February so there will be time to decide on their next school & I will have had the response from my interview by then too.. I have daily alerts from Domain & my budget looks promising in the areas I have set; at least upping it to £600 was really looking good in those areas..... .Sydney is definitely another matter!!
  2. Hello again with only 2 weeks left in England !!!!!! I am panicking slightly as all my well laid plans appear to be suddenly wobbly.......... We found a lovely school for the kids in Shellharbour and was heading there after a week in Sydney. The plan was 1.5 hour drive to Sydney is good enough for hubby as he works mobile and will continue in his line of work... I have looked at other posts about (Tall buildings in Paramatta) & I can see my anxiety building up already :arghh: working in busy & somewhat crowds environment is what I do....but I need a daily wind down away from it all. where do I start ?? I do not want to go above £500 pw in rent either unless absolutely necessary and it looks like it might be the case. After promising the kids that the will have better beaches in Australia... at least better than Bridlington/Cleethorpes and Skegness beaches :skeptical: I need ideas on where to start researching please!!! Someone said Penrith and Windsor are reasonable commutes but the appear inland on google maps.
  3. Thanks Mini Cooper we have 10 weeks to go before we start our journey and as always it brilliant to hear good news..
  4. I was dealing with a recruitment agency recently and I had to send certified copies of my skills assessment.. So I believe it's essential. We used a migration agent to apply for our Visa so it was easy to obtain certified copies for hubby and I after the visa grant(included in their service of course)
  5. That's about right ...we booked ours last month and our stuff will be leaving at the end of this month.
  6. Hi we are flying in December at moment we have..... applied for schools and have been placed on a waiting list booked accommodation for a couple of weeks.. opened a bank account saved all important documents for easy printing obtained certified copies of important documents such as qualifications found the address for the motor registry to obtain driving licences on arrival we are yet to.... Contact estate agents to discuss viewings and requirements complete tax forms to claim tax back in the uk
  7. I really appreciate all your responses. We have been granted 190 NSW State sponsorship and we want to keep to the living in the state. When we first thought of Emigrating Oz was too big to make a choice, having never been there either we relied on info from others but it was still dificult to make a choice. We made the decision to honour the Conditions of the 190 visa and we intend to do so unless it's extremely difficult to get a job. In the Uk my OH was in a job which required for us to move home every 2.5 years sometimes even less. Mykids were a lot younger then but my eldest child is more sensitive and she takes a while to settle in. She will be going to year 6 and I want for her to have the same group of friends for the next couple of years. Moving home does not bother me much but to move from an area....given how big OZ is will make it difficult to keep in touch with friends made while settling in. I am a Social Worker and my search for jobs in the PM area looks positive. I am looking at working possibly working in an area which is not too close to where I live about an hour away even. My OH now works now works as a refrigeration engineer and the company he works for specialise in data centre cooling. PM is the base for their head office and that of other competitors. Which is why we chose that area however the the job it self has aspects of being mobile job and he will be computing to sites regardless of where we live. The Job in ACT only came up yesterday which is why I panicked and started to research what that will mean to our plans. Thanks again for all your responses it's been beneficial to us.
  8. Thanks Quoll Will it be considered as undesirable area as compared to Port Macquarie ? (personal opinion welcome). I don't know anything about the area and its not my first choice but I am trying to do a bit of research before I rule out this option. Thanks
  9. I did look Bungo which is why I posted for suggestions to try to narrow down towns to research. I know it's not a realistic commute. I am looking at the south coast area.
  10. Hi Can anyone please advise on whether it is realistic to live in NSW and work in Canberra. Which ideal suburbs will I be looking at? My research over the months has been to live in Port Macquarie. However a possible job transfer opportunity for my husband has meant that we consider exploring suburbs closer to the ACT. Any ideas?
  11. I know !! Our agent rang about 11am to tell us but the email arrived around 3am.. I was just pottering around the house nursing a poorly child on my day off!!! when the call came. The excitement cured him instantly Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Wow Kevsan sounds amazing my daughter will be 11 by the time we travel and my son is 9. Will this be available through Singapore airlines exclusively or just any which transits through. I have researched Qantas, Emirates & Etihad so far & Dubai/ Abu Dhabi are the only stop over options I have got. Better broaden my search options then. Thanks again I can imagine the experience already.
  13. Our Visa was granted yesterday. It took just over 6 weeks from uploading the extra info... So excited !!!!
  14. Thanks all it makes sense now, there was no mention of a fuel stop. We will definitely need to stretch our legs and some time off the plane as well. Quoll....I take it then that the flights which changes over at Dubai etc. will allow us longer time off the plane and also through the full security checks as we do at the beginning of our journey? Just researching options for travelling with two children in December.
