  1. Its been a while since my last post, but finally things are starting to move. I have been offered a job in Floreat and was just wondering the best goverment schools in this area. I have a 14yr and 10yr old, also I dont now much as yet about the area is there any areas I should avoid living? Thanks
  2. Hi just a quickie, same old story once again, my husband is a plasterer and has been for 20+ yrs running his own business. He has looked into the NVQ 2 which he can pay for and complete in a matter of weeks, however the TRA say he has to have 3yrs experience post qualification, (as he will be 50yrs old next year, thats not possible), TRA have said that you could consider taking a Recognition of Prior Learing(RPL) with a registered Australian Reg Training Organisation(RTO). , so basically complete the Aussie AQF Cert in plastering. Does any one now of any companies in the UK that this could be taken.? We are in the South East, but dont mind travelling to anywhere just to complete this. We are now pulling our hair out already, so many hoops to jump!! If and when this does get done , we have just enough points to go over on the 487 visa. . I did get offered a job on a 457 sponsor visa , but the company that was going to employ me has deceided that it would be to much money for them!, so back to the drawing board and , hopefully now rely on hubbies skills. Thanks
  3. Wow thanks Qzmaniac and everyone else for your advise, looks like Queensland is the place with no school fees,.Time to start looking for rentals property prices!!!
  4. Im not sure yet could be Brisbane. I have googled school fees, but couldn t find anything
  5. Oh, yes should of said I was thinking goverment state schools. I know SYD are about $5000+ each yr per child. Is Queensland the same or less(less hopefully!!!)
  6. We are off to aussie at some point this year with a 457 visa, the company I will be working for has offices in both Queensland and Sydney. With 2 children 14yrs and 10yrs , I need to take into account public school fees. I have found info for Sydney , but no prices for Queensland. Is Queensland cheaper for public schools. Thanks
  7. Hi we have just joined Poms in Oz, We are hopefully coming to Syd later in the year on a sponsor visa 457 and will be working in the Balmain area. I have read loads and I understand on this visa we have to pay for public schools and health/medical care. We have so many questions, now this is actually happening. We are looking at the Concord or Denistone area because the house rental seems a lot lower there,or something similar that suits families, and not to far to drive to Balmain We have 2 children age 14yrs an 10yrs so good schools nearby that except the 457 visa, also taking our jack russell so some nice walks nearby would be good. With regards to heath/medical care does any one recommend any particular companies ? Sorry lots of questions already , but any help would be really appreciated. Thankyou
