Confused nursery nurse

Hi there im in a little pickle, we'v had r visa granted an now its all real its all about the stuff that needed doin but has sat on a shelf waiting for the go ahead. My OH was the main applicant therefore i have not done a skills assessment. Here is my problem i need to have my qualification in childcare transferred i have a CCE - (Certificate in childcare and education) and DCE - (diploma in childcare and education) i have searched the web and found little help (maybe im not using the right words in my search) and iv found 1 western Australian gov website regarding changing my qualification but my problem is that it is not on the list and transfers it to grades A* B* ect and im very unsure how that transfers in oz with regards to jobs and further training . If someone has gone thru this or knows anything about it cud u pls help. Also it says that they need things from my course but i completed my course in 2003 and dont have anything to do with my course (bar certificates) left, they all got binned thou the yrs !!! im soooooooooooooooo confused.com.

Sorry I don't know the answer but what about looking at some child care facilities on the web and contacting them and asking (they hopefully should know), or contacting TAFE or Uni's who may offer child care courses.

Contact the establishment where you did your training and ask for a transcript of the course - they should have one and that will show all you covered.

Hi, If you're going to WA you need to go onto www.communities.wa.gov.au and you can sort out an assesment of your quals (Sallie West). I had DNN (same as DCE) and ADCE and got given an A* which is the highest qual in private daycare. Looking at the site you should get a B* which is a fully qualified staff member and would prob get room leader etc with the right experience. You can send if off while in the UK so it's sorted for when you get here.
Your qualification would most likely come under the NNEB heading on the info page, as prior to 1991 it was called NNEB then Diploma in Nursery Nursing for a few years before being changed to DCE but it's the same qualification (2 years at college with various placements /observations and assignments etc) as oppsed to NVQ's.
For your course transcripts etc I just contacted the college and they sent duplicate certs with a breakdown of the modules and pass grades (ADCE not DNN, just had pass cert for DNN). I was directed to a website that allowed me to purchase the books that set out the course details for the DNN and ADCE, it confirmed how many hours I'd studied, course content etc (it took ages to arrive). I also put in a a letter outlining my college experience i.e. what placements I'd done and also my work experience to date. Make sure you have specific 0-2yrs exp on it as the * bit of B* means that you can work with 0-2 as well which will make you more employable.
When you get here you'll also need first aid cert and Working with children check.
