Working in Childcare
Hi,
My wife has a Cache Foundation Level Award in Childcare from the UK, just wondered what base quals are required to work with children in Aus.
We have seen a Level III Cert in Child Services, 1 year course.
We are thinking Nursery Work, looking after children (child minding) at our property etc
Any info well received

Hi I'm currently doing my cert III in WA takes 5/6 months and costs $900 at tafe... If you were going to work in a centre some places I have seen don't mind if you don't have cert III so long as you have your wwc and police check! But your cert III is your basic qualification then you can f
go on to do your diploma which means you can be the supervisor or even own your own day care centre! But if you just want to do a family day care then atm you just need your cert but there are alot of policies with doing this and they are currently undergoing review. I'm sure if you google the policies etc for you area you should be able to find some more info?
Hope this helped?

I just had to have basic maths and good English! Basically there are girls in my class that are only 15 and left school as soon as they could!

Hi
I have just started working in a childcare centre, I also had level 2 in Uk, I just contacted the centre and told them I am going to start studying for cert 111 and I got the job.
I am hoping to complete the cert 111 within 6 months through distance learning then do the diploma after that. So far I am enjoying the work and I have noticed that the centres have loads more outside space than anything in the UK. Good luck

Can you share with me studying via distance learning can be done if I am still overseas. There are some terms for different school or college that mentioned "online study/External course/Distance Learning". Are they all the same?
Thanks
