she is just completing her fy2 year over here then we are going over on the 18th August initially for 18months.

She is going to be doing psychiatry.

Hi Man2010,

I've just joined the forum. I'm not a Doctor, but my husband is. He is a GP, and we are moving to Oz. Although he applied to DWS areas, he managed to secure a job in Mornington (Mornington Peninsula which is not part of DWS. He applied thorough an agency. Which part of Oz are you planning to Move? We chose Melbourne, as we dont like it too hot and love the 4 seasons.

we are moving to melbourne.got a job in manor lakes.We cant live too far away from the CBD cos hubby needs job in banking/finance. when do you move? I need to start in August but i dont think its feasible cos visa is not ready.

I'd think we'll be moving around Aug too. He has just accepted the contract and now waiting for registration from AMC. I think this takes about 6 to 8 weeks. Then it would be the Visa/Workpermit. Not sure how long its going to take, but the agent advised that we are looking at Aug/Sep. We are thinking of renting our house. They are quite flexible with his start date. Keeping my fingers crossed.

We are applying for the 457 Temp Business visa (long stay). Hope it all goes through. Will keep you posted. xx

Good luck with your visas guys!!! We too are moving to Melbourne in Sept, I'm a nurse and OH air con. We should compare notes, when we find anything out of interest about the area let each other know!! Of course you may not want to compare notes with me as I'm only a nurse............................................. .

Thanx Sunnyday! A doctor is lost without a nurse so i definitely I value your input and would like to compare notes.Do you know which part of Melbourne you are moving to?
