Software Developer specialised in .NET / C# Looking for a Job in Brisbane
Good day everyone,
I am a 29-year-old software developer who has been working in the IT field for 10 years. I have taken charge in software development, project management and development consultancy. I am specialised in .NET area; in branches mainly as C#, ASP.Net, ADO.Net, SQL Programming, XML, Remoting, VB.NET, LINQ and also have upper-intermediate knowledge in JAVA, XAML, T-SQL and C++.
I am moving to Brisbane in March 2010 with work-and-holiday visa which will allow me to work full-time in Australia for one year while my visa assessment for "Skilled – Independent (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 175)" continues and hopefully finishes during the time I am working there.
I am looking for a job in Brisbane in my field. It would be a great plus if the employer sponsored me while my PR assessment continued. I will have time to prove myself as a genuinely skilled programmer, since I will be on work-and-holiday visa for a year.
Please pm me if you have any information, advice or suggestion regarding my post. I will be glad to forward my CV.
Thank you very much in advance.

acoupoly: I am thinking about doing the same thing as you. I am a ASP.NET/C# Developer with 4 years of .NET development. I was thinking about moving to Australia on a Work and Holiday visa. Have you had any success finding employment?
Thanks for any feedback.

Hi Puhfista!
My school did not allow me to suspend my studies mid-semester. I had to wait for another 2 months until the new semester begins. Therefore I am on a different path now. I am going to Australia to study and improve my English. In the meantime I will be applying for a GSM visa.
Regarding my post I made here months ago... No reply came back. I applied to some of the companies and they kindly rejected me... So I don't really think one can find a job over the net. The companies are quite unwilling to employ someone who is not already in AU. They would like to interview face-to-face I guess. But you can't know? :) Maybe you can find a job even before going to Australia.
Good luck! :)

Working Holiday Visa workers in programming
Hi, We do recruitment for the games industry in Australia & have been able to get studios to offer 457 visa sponsorship for people with 5+ years console games programming experience, or Flash Actionscript programming because both are in short supply here (ie they cant find locals with enough skills)
If not & you can a Working Holiday Visa here are some hints:
1) when you search for jobs make sure they are just the "contract" roles, as you can work for 6 months at a time with any one employer.
2) if you are intending to apply from the UK first, have your visa approved & a date of arrival in mind or flight booked, so the employer knows you are serious about coming over to work
3) Try to be flexible on your location, as there are jobs in all capital cities. Sydney & Melbourne are the biggest, but there is also Brisbane, Canberra (government jobs), Adelaide & Perth.
4) If you get a contract role & they like you, some employers can then sponsor you longer term on a 457 visa ( have had this happen to)
5) See if your skills are in high demand here, search on maybe seek . com . au to get an idea.
We currently have an online Casino Games developer in Bribane after 5 Java programmers & they will offer sponsorship for good candidates with 5+ years experience. They do like you to be in Australia first, but we may be able to get the ball rolling first by sending them your resume, completing their programming test, having a telephone interview before arriving for a final interview.
Feel free to contact me anytime.
