Nursing & Midwifery Jobs in the UK

Hi Guys,

Just a quick question for those of you still in the UK....
I was wondering what the work situation is like for experienced nurses/midwives?
Is it difficult to find a position within the NHS?
I am thinking the London / Hampshire area...

Have you had a look on NHS Jobs - NHS Careers and Jobs ? My OH is a midwife in Brisbane at the RBWH and the Mater, but was working in Basingstoke up until last August. I can ask her if you like but you might know her anyway. Are you working in Brisbane at the moment?

Hi,

Thanks for your message. I also work as a midwife at both the Mater and RBWH, and funnily enough Basingstoke is an area we are interested in! I have kept my eye on the NHS jobs page, but am never sure whether most of those jobs are already taken by internal applicants. I was going to try giving the midwifery manager at basingstoke a call tonight for a chat.
Would love to hear some advice from your wife about the place!
