      Heavy Diesel Fitter

Can anyone please help, I know that the sponsorship are probably few and far between because of the economic problems. But im currently looking for a sponsor for a Heavy Diesel Fitter anywhere in the Perth area. Can anyone give me any information with regards to any companies that may deal with this.

My partner is currently working on a number of generators and air compressors. such as Caterpillar, Deutz, Kubota, Atlas Copco, Arc Gen, Compair, Linde, Thwaites, SMC, Hyster, Ingersoll-Rand, DeWalt and Genelight.

I have applied to 109 jobs so far on the yellowpages.com. Had a coupel of replies but none for sponsorship.

      Hope anyone can help.

Kerry try ringing the companys rather than e-mailing, you seem to get a batter response.
Have you looked or considered the mines, they are still advertising for diesel mechanics but most are fly in ,fly out.
      Good Luck

Hiya, we are coming out to oz on a 457 visa. My husband is a MAN truck mechanic. We got in contact with Christine from Austrailian Trade Connections. They specialise in Mechanics and panel beaters etc. They were really good, found us a job in Sydney within 2 months. My husbands flies out on 25th Sept. They are based in Vic, but deal with whole of Austrailia.

Is there any way your other half can get some experience on stuff other than gensets? Generally the diesel fitters here will be expected to have a grounding in on and off-highway trucks, transmissions, wiring harnesses etc, the engine part is probably 1/4 of what they'll have to deal with. The major guys in the heavy industry here are CAT, MTU Detroit, Komatsu and Cummins. The more of those he knows his way around the better.

There's been a couple of major labour-hire companies go belly up recently here in Central QLD, heart of the mining industry. There's a fair few highly experienced people kicking round at the moment, things might be similar in WA which may be why you're not having much luck.
