I too am a brickie and although I can't help with your questions, (sorry!!) I too would be grateful for info. We have applied for a pr175 visa, acknowledged in August, but no further news yet. Think we're in for a long wait!! We are hoping to move to somewhere in Melbourne.

hello. i arrived here september 4th this year and got a job 1 week later! BUT, in my opinion(and my bosses!!) there is very little work on the coast, though there is some. a lot of the jobs have ground to a halt(retirement villages etc)due to them not selling because the old peoples super annuation is affected by the credit crunch. however as i say there is some work and if your prepared to travel more work down in brisbane(1 hour plus drive tho). same everywhere though isn't it? at least its sunny here!!(sometimes lost a day and a half this week so far and the same last week to rain....)

We have recently had two brickie families stay in our rentals in Melbourne and within a week they were both in work with lots of other job offers. Marriot Waters in Lyndhurst are crying out for brickies.
Sorry no idea for other states.
