Hi Rebecca,
Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but no your Qualificatios are not enough, I manage a service for my local council who provide residential services, I have a number of quals along with NVQ 4 health/social care, NVQ 4 is equivilent to an AQF advanced diploma which is enough to get you in, the other problem is that it is only a 40 point occupation so it gives you the dis-advantage of starting with a reduced number of points.
If your young enough with enough experience and get the NVQ 4, this will hopefully give you the points total, I did get offered the chance of sponsorship in Adelaide, but not many company's sponsor this profession as it's not cost effective.
I was so desparate to get in I decided to retrain on a student visa and hopefully will be going in November fingers crossed.
Hope this helps you out.
