Social Work Opportunities - Australia

Hi there,

My name is Rachel and I run the Social Work division of REED Healthcare here in Australia. We are a specialised recruitment agency and I am sure you have probably heard of REED as we have a number of offices throughout the UK / Europe.

Our Social Work consultants including myself are all social workers and we have worked in the UK and here in Oz. If you are considering social work in Australia we would love to hear from you and would be glad to assist so feel free to email me on rachel.perkins@reedjobs.com

Cheers

Hi
My husband and I are at the very early stages of moving to Australia. I am clueless as to what the climate is like for social work jobs with directly employed by the employer or through an agency such as yourselves. The areas we are considering looking to move to are Brisbane, Adelaide or Melbourne. My husband is a teacher and he would be looking for a more permanent position rather than through an agency.

Is there any advice that you canoffer re social work jobs in Australia. I qulified in 2000 and my expereince is in child protection and also fostering. How do salaries of social workers in Australia in the areas where I have experience compare to the salaries of social workers in the uk. In the uk I at at the top of my salary scale and full time pay is almost £30,000 per annum.

Look forwrd to hearing from you
