UK Prison Governor - Job Opportunities

Good Evening from the UK!!!!!!!

I am a qualified Prison Governor in the English Prison Service (British Citizen) married to a New Zealand Citizen who is also employed in the English Prison Service we are very interested in relocating to OZ and joining the Austrialian Correction Service - can anyone help, advise us!!!!!!!! I have 19 years experience while my wife has 10 years experience in the service. Can anyone let us know how we start this journey? Has anyone transferred from the English Prison Service to the Australian Correction Service? How did you do it?

Any assistance would be really really fantastic!!!!!!

Hi

Late last year, the Western Australia correctional services were running a big recruitment drive. They were at one of the expos offering sponsorship. Not sure if that is still happening but you could try them.

Hi I am a probation officer due to start work in Western Australia try googling western Australia corrections they have an international recruitment page but our are chief went to work for the same service and her husband got a job in the in the prison service- they applied and went through the visa service all the best liz

Thanks for your prompt replies - the WA web site was very useful and I have e-mailed a couple of people from it.

I will keep looking and will look in on you guys on this site from time to time.

i too work in probation and sent an expression of interest of for a vacancy working in prison doing what I do now, I got a letter last week saying they would be recruiting from overseas towards the end of the year but would keep my details on file

yeah sure I'll PM you the guys email address if youlike then maybe you could email him direct, as you are obv way more qualified and have more skills than I do, Im just a lowly careers and employment advisor!
