salaries for motor mechanics

Hi

Finding it quite difficult to check out what the average wage for a motor mechanic is, are there any sites I need to look at to find this out. We are wanting to move to Adelaide, what are the job prospect there?

Thanks Carl

Hi Carl

My wife and I went to Oz on an holiday to check some things out and visited Brisbane and Melbourne area's, the wages which i got offered from a Ford Dealership in Dandenong, Melbourne worked out about 20k ish before tax.

Hope this helps

Timo

motor mechanic wages

Thanks for the info

Haven't been out there, just wife's sister is over there and she's missing her so much. Is this salary in your opinion enough to have a comfortable way of life? The sister-in-law has warned us about the mortgage rate, health insurance, education fees etc. But The positives so outweigh the negatives.

Are you going to move over? Have you started the process yet? I'm busy trying to get evidence together, I'm a RAC patrolman so I'll have to start to get the members to take photo's of me fixing their vehicles!

Anyway good luck to you

Carl

I would consider the wage good you should be able to live comfortable on this but i'm sure there are better paid jobs out there if you look well enough, it seems the local papers are the best source for jobs. We are just waiting to sell our house then we are ready to move it took one year to get our visa from start to finish. Get as much evidence of work as poss as i had to appeal to get my visa but once got that it was just wiating.
