Any demand for nursery nurses?

I was just wondering if there was demand for nursery nurses in the Brisbane area? I am at Uni at the mo doing a degree in child studies, and then want to go into teaching but its going to take at least another 5 years including the experience. I know I get good points for being a qualified Nursery Nurse and will have a child care degree but didnt know how in demand Nursery Nurses are over there?!

I believe there is, for one they are always advertising for staff at childcare centres and opening new ones. and my friend who is currently travelling Oz has qualifications in childhood studies and is picking up jobs here and there in childcare centres-lots of work going she has found.

Hi

I'm heading to Tasmania and I have been told that there are plenty of childcare jobs available for both qualified and non qualified workers. From looking on jobsites there are always jobs advertised in childcare all over Oz.

Good luck with everything

Emma

I have a friend over here who works in childcare. It took her about a week to find a full time job in one of the ABC learning centres, and there was plenty of work available.
