Carpenter/joiner situation in Perth

Can anyone out there give us an insight into the work situation in perth for joiners/carpenters, my partner has 15 years+ experience in the joinery trade and has been self-employed for over 4 years now?
We are in the process of doing our medicals (6 May), then just waiting for visas to be granted.
We hear that there is shortage of joiners in WA but don't seem to find too many jobs advertised on websites.

No probs Claire, good luck with getting info, we have seen a few jobs for melbourne but don't see much for other areas, but hear they are desperate for joiners/carpenters, lets hope theres some out there reading our request!
When you planning on heading out there?

joiner/carpenter work in Brisbane

Hi all, we also need info on joinery/carpentry work. We are going to Brisbane as soon as we sell our home, hopefully end of year. My partner Matthew has been a joiner for 15+ years. Timberframe construction is what he is doing at the moment. Can anyone give us any leads.

Hi,
Phil didn't have to do the vetasses and practical but have heard that the practical is a walk in the park, if you're a joiner then your fine they are just seeing if you really are what you say you are, phil says' "don't worry".
Wondering if you could help us, how did you go about getting a job sponsor before you have got your visa or gone out there, can't seem to find much info?
Good luck and many thanks
Phil&wens

Hi, I noticed in last saturdays western australian (newspaper) that there seemed to be a few jobs advertsied for carpenters/joiners - it didn't give salary though. Have you looked at the west australian on line - there's usually a big job section on Saturdays.
