Hello

My GF and soon to be wife as received an offer of a job in Australia. She it well qualified with a Masters in International Business, Media and Marketing, I on the other hand have nothing except experience. I have worked in the home automation/Smart home technology industry for 16 years as well as sales experience. My job was to install and program systems into luxury homes. (Lighting, Cinema Multi-room audio, Security etc). Some of my former clients were premiership footballers. Although I am not to concerned about going to Oz personally, I will if it means in the long run we will be better off because of my GF credentials. What I want to know if it can be answered, is how difficult is it for someone like me with no paper work.

From my understanding, if she is your soon to be wife and the application is based on her qaulifications you wont need to worry at all. You will automatically go on the app as her spouse.
My OH is a carpenter, I have no qualifications but our app is going in soon based on him.

Thanks for that. Also will my experience count for anything should i try to apply for similar Oz. I'm personally not sure of the Smart Home Tech market out there as it has never crossed my mind to move there. Suppose we we cross that bridge if and when we get to it.

I think in terms of the points needed, if you have no paper to back up your proffession the points will be based purely on your OH. As for the job market in OZ I honestly couldnt say, it may pay you to have a good look around this forum for info based on job roles and any info on job agencies that might be able to help you. Im sure there will be someone on here who can help you more than I can, but I wish you all the luck with your search...........its an exciting time ahead!

I dont know if its any help but lots of the propertys especially around the gold coast and more expensive suburbs all have media and entertainment rooms with screens bigger than my kitchen,lol,,i guess someone must install it all ,have you thought of contacting the electrical companys like retrovision etc who sell the tvs and see if they can give you details of installers.
As for the visa ,as long as you can proove a de-facto relationship you shouldnt have a problem going on your partners visa,me and hubby werent married whn we applied just had to send eviennce of a relationship,old invites,joint bills etc
