Wink tax file number (TFN)

hi,

do we hv to give the TFN when we sign a contract with an employer?

what if we make our first landing and come back to singapore and hvnt applied for one and there's a job offer?

can we just apply and give it later to the employer after we start working with them?

thanks.

From my experience, you don't give your TFN until you have been ofered a job.
I actually recieved my first wage before my TFN had reached the accounts dep' so you should be fine.

Im pretty sure you pay a larger amount of tax if your employer isnt notified of your TFN,,the banks may also take an amount out of your account until they are notified too,,

TFN - is exactly that your tax file number you do not have to give it to anybody including banks and employers But and this is the catch if you don't give it
Your tax rate for PYE will be at the highest rate same with interest from banks
you can claim the excess tax back but you might as well give it to your employer and banks etc in the first place and get the lower tax rate from day one -
