My boyfriend is a dental technician and we are moving to sydney in Nov 08.
From searching online there does appear to be jobs in the area but not as many as when we first looked.
My understanding of the industry its the kind of trade where people are recruited word of mouth rather than through advertising so i would recommending just emailing your CV direct to the labs you want to work in (if you haven't already) and if they have no openings they might know someone who does!

sorry it has been a bit late in replying but only got back from perth this morning 20th april. I have made a few good contacts but as you said you have to be there ready to start working.At least now I have a better idea now.

thats great Eugene, my boyfriend is going on a quick visit in July to register with the NSW dental board so that once we move over in Nov he is able to work otherwise he would have to wait until Feb!
We have signed up to daily job alerts and things are coming through he is looking for ceramist roles.
