Hiya,
As i posted before I am in my final year at Uni and for me it was always going to be Mental health.
My first year was spread out with four placements, two in mental health (both organic brain disease) one in learning disabilities at a day centre and the last one was an adult branch placement in a nursing home.
My second year was two placements in the community both being parth of the multi disciplinary team as a student cpn (loved this!)
My third year is again two placements, We were given a list of placements and told to choose three. The first placemetn is specialised and I am on an adolescent psychiatric inpatient unit and waiting to hear where my final placement is....which is the management placement..
With my University, at the end of the common foundation programme (year one) people were given the opportunity to swap branches - a few came over to mental health.
Hope this helps..
