Hello All,
What a great threadI am also a student nurse with six months left to qualifyWe are coming to Perth in Jan - Feb 09!!!! Some hossies look really nice and i have been in contact. I am thinking of doing the grad program, does anyone have any positive feedback?
I know WA like everywhere else is really short of nurses. I know the hopsital I work at is short of nurses - it is worth contacting them directly - you may get a job offer.

Yes you need skills assessment to apply for visa you can get this first from ANC but if you know which state you want to live in you can apply direct to them for registration and then apply for skills assessment from ANC this is the cheapest way to do it.
Hi,What a great idea to have a nurses thread. My wife Sue 39, is a Sister on a Renal ward in Canterbury,Kent and we are just beginning the long visa trail! We are hoping to emigrate to Perth once the visas are in place and Sue would like to stay in renal nursing if possible as she has 6 years experience.I'm Nick 43,a lorry driver and heavy plant operator and we have twin boys Matthew and Joseph 7. We want to emigrate to try and give them a better start in life and to enjoy a bit more sunshine! We worry so much about all the violence, crime, drugs etc that we just want to get away from the uk,sad though it will be to leave. The N.H.S seems to have become a huge dinosaur with far too many managers and too few staff to do the dirty work! Anyway enough moaning, lets just look forward to the far off day when we finally get on the plane!! Good luck to you, all Sue and Nick

I am coming out to join you in Queensland as a nurse director working in the Department of Health. I look forward to meeting some of you. I start in May.
Hi Neil, it must be very difficult for Laura, I would suggest she comes with you for a little while - that way she always has the easy option of returning once she's validated her visa. They're begging for nurses all over Australia.
