HI
we came over on a 457 my wife is the nurse, we came on a457 becauase that was the only option due to our age +45 we are applying for PR immediately. On a 457 you must work for the hospital not the agency as you have to be sponsored by the hospital. Haven`t been in Perth long but my opinion I we love it and don`t intend on going back ho to the UK, things are different frustrating sometimes but the posis at weigh the negatives . TRy to get salary sacrifice that helps wi the dosh payin less tax is brill whereever you lay your hat

Salary sacrafice is great - but at first we kept thinking "there must be a catch to this" - but there isn't it's great. Glad the jobs going well (so far), hope we're going to meet you at Hilarys on the 16th

Glad the thread has been such a hit! I knew there was loads of us out there!
I have a bit of a question for those of you out there working, or those of you still here, but who have secured jobs. How did you get yours? I sent off my cv to Queensland Health on their 'submission of interest' link, and also to the Gold Coast hospital. I've had acknowledgment, but yet to hear anything else! I've had a look at seek.com.au and there does seem to be lots of agency work if I get stuck! Don't think we'll be out there till July/Aug at the ealiest, but would be good to know that I've got a job to go to! Any advice most welcome!

Hi, I got my job through vital international. They sent my cv to hospitals in Perth. They were excellent. sophie@vital.jobs Sophie fixed up my interview with the hospital, and helped me with lots of other stuff. She still calls me now since arriving to make sure all is going ok.

I emailed hospitals asking if they had vacancies and expressing my interest, attached my CV, they arranged a telephone interview and I got offerred a post. I then let my CO know that I had a firm job offer.

Hi there!
It's amazing how quick your 3 years will be up! You'll be there before you know it! Have you checked out some of the Graduate programmes? They do take new grads from the Uk, but I think they give priority to Oz grads, but i'm sure you'll get something!
Good luck with your course!

colin&lorraine is on a distinguished road
Hi this is a great thread. Im a nurse in Blackburn working on an acute nedical ward. Hoping to move to Queensland with hubby and our 17 year old daughter. We also have a 21 year old son who is going to tour round the world then follow us out. At the moment we have lodged an application with QNC then its skills assessment and visa appplication. Everything takes soooo long. Good luck everyone.

Hi there! Count me as one of the nurses out there. Looking at Perth but all so very confusing! So I have to get my skills assessed before we apply? Was that a complicated process? Thanks in advance!
