Best of luck

Hi Andy
Wow, 3 weeks, that was quick! Good for her! Yes you're right, I think I will re-submit being less specific!
So when do you hope to get there? Where you headed? We're looking at Sunshine and Fraser Coasts now...the kids aren't too happy though, they want to be next to the theme parks! The house prices seem to be a bit better the further north you go, but we don't want to be too far north, too many scarry things up there!
Thanks again
Mags

Hi Mags
We are going to Brisbane. Hopefully in October but it is all down to the usual paperwork but the main thing is selling our house. We need the money to set up over there. Hope you have more success second time round.

Andy.

Hi Mags,

I also sent an online EOI to Queensland Health at the start of May and got a reply saying that they had interest from 3 areas/hospitals. I got as far as nearly having telephone interview with hospital in Mackay, but after further research we realised that unfortunatley we couldn't afford to live in Queensland and especially not Mackay. The rental market is apparenty crazy over there and well overpriced as they're having a 'property boom' at the mo..

Anyway we started to look at Western Australia and I sent my CV to the government recruitment website and lo and behold within a week I had a job offer at the Royal Perth! I am an adult nurse and I do think that probably makes the difference. Think the shortage of general nurses is pretty dire!

Good luck in finding something suitable Take care, Fiona

Hi Mal,

The areas we looking at in WA are much cheaper than in Mackay QLD, we didn't look anywhere else so maybe the rest of QLD is cheaper. I had a contact from PIO who went to the same hospital and she said it was the main reason for people leaving the area. Also the hospital unit manager told me that real estate in Mackay was most expensive in QLD. The areas we are looking at in WA include Rockingham and surrounds and Joodanup and surrounds. Seen some nice houses for $350 a week? Is this typical do you think? Wherabouts are you? Fiona x

Hi Claire,
l had a telephone interview with Queensland Health, very straightforward, simple questions including ensuring health and safety on the ward, dealing with a difficult patient and keeping updated on clinical practice. Much easier than the last interview l had in UK, that was a nightmare!! Anyway l was offered a post straight away subject to references.
Good Luck
Jayne

We are in Clarkson (Somerly) and were in Connolly in a short term let you can get some rentals at that price or cheaper and in some nice areas we were in a quandary because we have a mutt so the choice was limited and we took the first we found Connolly is more expensive as it surrounds the Joony golf resort. Agent phoned to ask us if we wanted to buy the house he owns this one and next door 2 duplexes on one block so he is selling one but not to me methinks. Would love to go nearer the coast (walking distance) . been today down the coastal path brill , all bthe surfers were out at trigg

Waiting for sponsorship nom from hospital to be accepted then we can apply to buy gonna try the govt homestart scheme enquired and informed we qualify

afternoon all you nurses out there - i have a situation that i need advice on. i have applied for PR 175 and got job offer from ramsay healthcare but i don't want to work full time that is why I have applied for PR and not for a 475 visa. situation is - if i work part time for them can i still use the job offer on my visa application? i have emailed them and they are happy for me to work part time on a PR - they said it saves them forking out the money for the 475!! also - if a better job comes up do i have to notify the DIAC? i suppose you can have loads of job offers come in whilst the application is still processing. any advice greatly appreciated.
ta.

melbourne hospitals and ens visas???

Hi everyone!

Apologies now for the following waffle!!!

I am looking for some help if at all poss!! I am an rgn, having qualified many moons ago now, but recently had a break for just under 2 years, but am now back at work in the hospital. We are looking at making the move to melbourne if poss, and ideally am looking to be sponsored under the ENS (121) visa.

I have worked in several different clinical areas, including surgical, paeds, school nursing and now endoscopy!! Most of my time spent was on paeds, which was great, but i especially loved my school nursing(i was purely based at one school, and it was fab!)

If anyone has any suggestions as to any hospitals who offer this visa,( as i know majority mainly offer the 457), it would be greatly appreciated.

Also if anyone can give their feelings on the different hospitals-the good, the bad and the ugly!!! it would be great, as it will give me a bit more of an idea as to where is best to avoid if at all possible!

Many many thanks in advance

Claire x
