hi moomin

if that hospital has a bad rep why dont you try for a different one? i am sure there are plenty out there :)
Ramsey health care are recruiting at the moment and are offering PR from the UK so no need for the 457
also do you have enough points for the 175 (120pts) or 176 (110pts) if you dont want to be tied to an employer...for my money 2 yrs is not so long and the security of having PR is great, plus this way i dont have to wait forever for the independant :)

good luck
debbie

Hi Milly
i too am a practice nurse but wanting to go to victoria. i would rather stay in practice nursing but it is so different out in oz - they are about 15 years behind the uk. i have just come back from a reckie and gathered a lot of info whilst out there. the doctors do mainly all the procedures out there and the nurses very little but i think it is changing slowly. also they get paid more than i do for very much less, sounds less stressful!! i went on careerone.com for jobs and emailed directly. they dont sponsor as private practice so we are going for PR (175)

Nurse Registration problems

Hi all you wise people out there. My wife is currently applying for nurse registration in Queensland. They have contacted her to say that her evidence of competent nurse practice was not good enough. Does any body know exactly what they are looking for?? The letter is very vague and her current ward sister is a waste of space when it comes to advice. HELP
What kind of thing did you people who have made it have in your practice letters??Any form of advice would be greatly appreciated.

contact them and ask what they want. Has she asked the NMC to send confirmation of her registration or a transcrip of her training? I sent 2 references with my skills application, one from my manager and one from a consultant.

Hi Ali
She has not had to do a skills assesment but QHA are asking for a letter of nursing competence from her current sister. The one she sent stated her time working on the ward and what she did and her grade but it seems that is not enough. As for training transcript well many million gallons of water have passed under the bridge since that was used (in fact the bridge has sunk) and there are no records that far back. In fact they say they only keep training transcripts for approx 6 years.
Cheers
Andy

Hi Debbie,
thanks for the advice, I am sending my CV in to ramsay, not that much MH at the moment though. I didn' know if it was bad form to approach another hospital but I guess all is fair in love and migration
