Hi hoppy,

I'm a nurse specialist in Early pregnancy, which covers gynae. I don't know anything about jobs in Adelaide or Sunshine Coast but I'm very interested in finding out, as Adelaide is where we are looking to go!

Hey i'm feeling very frustrated today still waiting on transcript coming back from university, it's been months!!

had my visa completed on line ready to send when skills assessment back and its been lost!

been trying to figure out whats best to sell my house in the uk and rent whilst awaiting house in brisbane to be built or to rent out my house in uk?

Does anyone know if you can get a mortgage if you are only working agency? i don't want to get a job until we have moved so i can decide which hospital/ area i want to work in.

i feel like we are never going to make it at the minute, feel like i need to win the lottery to pay for everything!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Claire

Hi Sharron,

I am at the very beginning of the process! I have been offered a job at the RAH (A&E) and my nurse registration application has just arrived at the NBSA. I am coming out on a 457 visa(hopefully) House is on the market, and hubby and kids (8, 10, 12) are raring to go! Process started in March so hoping to be out there by the end of the year! fingers crossed!

Any pearls of wisdom greatly appreciated!!

Hi Skimbles

I'm in the early stages of move to Adelaide have been offered a surgical post at the QEH, just sent all paper work off to NBSA, hoping to go on a 457 visa too. Just tarting the house up at the moment ready to put on the market at the end of May. Then out to Adelaide early next year.

Good luck with the process.

Hi there - have just registered on here - after 'browing' for a while!!!

I am thinking seriously with regards to coming out to Oz (?Tasmania) in the near future, so am sure will find this thread interesting reading - great idea having one for nurses.

I currently co-habit with my boy (man)-friend and two children aged 10 & 11, definitely think that the UK is taking a nose-dive and Oz should help in securing a future worth having for us and the kids.

I do have in-laws (well out-laws actually) in Melbourne they have full residency status now.

Looking forward to 'talking'

nurse and family require some advice....please!!!

Hi, my name is Claire, and i am new to this forum and have just found this great nurses thread .
We as a family are looking to move to aus for a better quality of family life, and i am wondering about the first step for me regarding all the immigration process, various visas and job opportunities. I am so confused about it all (not difficult for me!!!) and was wondering if anyone out there could give me some step by step advice on how i need to go about everything.
I qualified in 93, and have worked in surgical units, paediatrics, and my most recent position was as a school nurse. I have had a break for 18 months, but have started applying for some jobs here for the time being-got an interview tomorrow infact-aaargh!!! I was wondering if this would be a problem, and hold me back?
By doing lots of research, and getting myself more and more confused, i think? that the 175 would be the best visa to try and get-is this right, but i don't know if i would be eligible??
I am sorry to ask all these daft questions-there is so much to think about isn't there-the house is currently on the market, and we all know what the housing market is currently like here in the uk!!.
We are looking at all the different areas in aus, and that is very difficult to choose an area to concentrate on isn't it when you have never visited before. Then there are the kids!! (11, 9 and 5) and school etc etc etc. They are all happy, and in really great schools here. My middle daughter struggles at school, and does need extra help and support-which is obviously a concern for us-all we want is for her to be happy, that is so important to us-do you think she would be ok within a school in aus as that is one thing i think is very difficult to know about unless you already have experience of what the education system is like?

So sorry about all this gobbdly-gook!! Just hope it makes some sense!!

Best wishes to everyone

I'm a midwife and nurse. Heading for Perth in January 2009. I have a job offer at Joondalup hospital.
Has anybody managed to get a "deal" on medicals in view of being NHS employees in the South West?
