Hi
Can anyone help?, I think im starting to make myself panic again. I dont have an agent. I have lodged a 175 visa in May and scored 125 points. Im English, so does that mean i dont need to sit the IELTS (for visa puposes). I did however, sit the IELTS academic last week for nurse registration but now im unsure if i needed the general test for the 175 application..does this make sense?? I can see why people pay agents now lol...please help
Lou

Think you just need the english test for your nursing not for visa as friends didnt have to sit an english test for their 175 visa. You dont always need an agent either as both us and our friends done it all ourselves its just your nerves kicking in
Hope that helps and good luck

What is the Mater like to work for and is it accessible to the coast? Any information greatly received.
Thanks
You could prob apply for mutual recogition registration through QNC but check on their web site. Its a simple process I did it as I was told to register in NSW as it was quicker and then apply for MR.
Hope this helps:idea:

yep its true. i have my exam on 7th of november. i ordered the practice materials off the website and it looks ok to me. for QNC you have to get a grade 7 or above on the academic test to be eligable to register with them. most visas want you to have at least a level 5. get your skates on coz they get booked up pretty quick.

hi emma..
i have too got practice materials and have done some of the tests..... well what can i say, i think the reading is really hard.... its the time scales and the 3 passages they want you to read included with answering the questions and the answers they are looking for dont replicate with words in the text... so far i have only gor around 30 out of 40 on the paractice tests... will keep trying..
when i do get everything sorted i want to apply for QNC reg... it says on the form i need a police check... can anyone tell me will the one we had done for the visa be ok or does it need to be a new CRB and does anyone have the link...... thanks,,xx
vetassess passed July 08
175 visa application 23/8/08, 176 Qld SS applied for 22/3/09, Qld SS approved 29/6/09 , changed to 176 meds & PCs 6/7/09,CO 7/8/09,

Hi rachel, im not too sure to be honest, mine is with Qld Health and havent dealt with the NMBWA. Ive had to do the IELTS( its not too hard, i got a 9 and was positive i had failed!).
I would imagine you will be being sponsored if you have been accepted for employment with Ramsey as being new grads, we are not eligible for any other type of visa.
I think the best thing to do would be to get in touch with the employment services at Ramsey and ask them to help you with your next steps.
Sorry i couldnt be any more help!
Sarah
