Hi all, to try and answer some of your questions,
neilalys my registration from qnc came through in 8 weeks and that included christmas bread, i'm also on a 457 and they seem to push them through quite quickly. so you should be ok.

yindavies I work at the Mater Hosptial in Brisbane, its about 50mins from GC so a bit of a hike but I work with several girls who live on the GC, they do 12 hours shifts so only have to do the drive 3 times a week. Its a great hospital and covers a really wide geographical area so gets lots of referrals from other hospitals as its quite specialised.

wiljenni, i really dont understand either why you need the PC to be in $, i paid for mine in £. and only took about 2 weeks to come through.

Hi , I wondered if anybody else is in the situation where they were offered a job and it has now been frozen?
Doesy anybody know what the job situation is like in Perth? If it's dire maybe we will have to look at another state

. My sister in law lives in Melbourne and she says there are plenty of jobs there, But she is also desperate for us to go there so she would tell me anything!!
I would love to hear from any one with advice.

Sorry absolute rot. NURSES DO NOT USE AGENTS ETC..EASY TO DO THE VISA YOURSELF WHEN JOBS AVAILABLE! At the moment (in Perth at least....jobs being 'frozen' my Aunt had offer, signed paperwork etc..now a no-go. Apparently private hospitals still recruiting overseas applicants in Perth.

Give it 6 months IMO jobs will be on offer again. I work in Perth as a nurse and am on a 457.

We used vital international , cost nothing and visa and job arranged , a lot of nurses go thro them as they contact the hospitals and see what vacancies there are, and arrange interviews etc and guide you thro the process and arrange transport to your accom

Dont mean agencies Mal..I myself approached Healthstaff recruitment seemed a reputable company..talking bout agents..and people who want money from you. Agencies get paid by the hospitals for recruiting..thats how they make money.

sorry didnt mean to offend or upset anyone, only going on my own experience as I found it easy to do myself. The agent I contacted was not very helpful and indicated that i was way too old and would not stand a chance of getting in, but here I am.

Apoligies to all the agents out there and those who have successfully used them.

If things are on hold, how come jobs are still being advertised for Perth area? Im without an agency and agent going for 175 PR, so not sure whats happening? are they still worth applying for do you think? We are planing to move Feb time..if i pass the IELTS that is lol.

Can anyone offer me some advice!

I have recently had TB screening and have been told I have laten TB by the TB nurse, chest xray was normal.

What are the implications for a 457 visa?

Any advice would be very useful.

Does anyone think it is worth getting my CV professionally turned into a Australian resume? has anyone had this done? I think im going to apply directly to the Hospitals..
