Any advice please!!!

Hi

We would really like to emmigrate as we long to give our children a better life, but I am worried as it appears as we wouldn't have enough points. My hubby is a window fitter and I am a admin assistant, so I think as my hubby hasn't got one of the specified trades needed in Oz, and I haven't. Is there anything we could do do you think? We have no close relatives, only aunt and uncle in Sydney. Any advice or tips would be much appreciated, or if anyone has been in a simular situation. Thanks very much in advance.

You should try a visa company like global visas and visit them online to see what points you may get. Its a free assesement and they will tell you what your options are. good luck.

Hi,
Have known people retrain to fit the jobs here in oz then come out here. Once you have the visa and residency you can do any work that you want....
Good luck.Jen.

hiya, dont know if you are still looing for any advice, but me and OH are in the same position and i called Go Matilda, they have links on here, they were really helpfull and we came up with the best option which would be sponsorship from a company who are prepared to offer him a job.

You could try the Oz recruitment agencies, links on different threads on here or what I am considering doing which is setting up a week visit for hubby to go to Perth where we want to move to and he can look for a job and suss out the likelhood of a sponsorship, apparently there is a better chance of this if you go out there, it shows you are keen.......

What ever you decide to do, good lck with it

Hi

Thankyou for getting back to me. Did you call Go Matilda in Australia? I have been on the website where it gives you the option to send them an email, and I don't think I could see a London office to call. Can you keep me posted as to how you get on as I would be interested to see as you are in a simular situation. What are your occupations?

Nat x
