Question help for welder

my husband 2B is a welder, fabricator, body builder.we have been living in australia for a year on a working hoilday visa. we have been told we need to get sponsorship from a company here to be able to stay (he hasn't got the 12 months work experience!!! ) The company he works for will not sponsor him, does anyone know if there is anyway of finding out about local companies who are offering sponsorship (we are living just out side melbourne). or a good agent who has links to companies who sponsor. Ive spent all day sending emails!!!!

Hi Jema

We may be able to help find a company willing to sponsor but this will depend very much on his qualifications, work history and where you want to be in Australia.

Hello jema

Welcome to Poms in Oz.

You say that you have both been in Oz on Working Holiday Maker visas? If so, have you done any of the sort of agricultural type work (3 months minimum) that would enable you to extend your WHM visas for another year?

If not, do you have time left in which you could do the agricultural type stuff? Grape picking and other sorts of harvesting might be happening near you around now?

Please see here:

Visa Options - Working Holiday Makers - Visas & Immigration

In order for Global Trade Research (based in SA) to be able to help you, it would seem that OH would need relevant qualifications plus sufficient experience. Please see here:

Global TradeSearch Recruitment - Employment

Find a Job in Oz is based in Melbourne, nearer to you, and Alan Collett is involved with it in some way. He is the Managing Director of Go Matilda, a firm of Migration Agents with offices in both the UK and Australia. In addition, Alan is also a Chartered Accountant in both jurisdictions as well as a Registered Migration Agent.

Best wishes

Gill

Sponsorship opportunities

Hi Jema,

Just been reading your original posting regarding your partner looking for work. I am Sandy Coates from Global Tradesearch Recruitment and yes I am based in SA however we operate nationally. We have been established for the last 3 1/2 years and our specialism is offshore recruitment. We also have a registered Migration agent who is my husband and we work very closely out of the same office. Jema just to give you clarity a recruitment consultant is exactly that and a Migration agent is a visa specalist. So regardles of what information you may receive through these forums you need to make the decision about what your needs are if its a rec ruitment related issue you can talk to me as I am actually based here in Australia. If it was a migration issues I would be directing you to my husband.

Send me your partners CV and I will contact you directly.
sandy@globaltradesearch.com.au:)
