Question Mechanic and MOT tester needing advice!

Hi everyone,
Is there anyone out there who might be able to help?
I've been in the business for 22 years now and in the UK I work for a main dealership as a quality control MOT tester & Mechanic.
Is there anyone out in Brisbane or Sunshine Coast who can advise of the current salary i can expect to earn?
I have also done a basic coarse in diesel fitting and am happy to do more training if needed to qualify for this area also, any advice?
Only really want garage work as i have a young family.
Many thanks, all words of wisdom greatfully received.
Andy.

Hiya my hubby is a diesel mechanic and has also started teaching(theyre abit behind on somethings, lol)I think the norm around Gold Coast ,Brisbane way is around $25.00 to $30.00pr hour.Obviously the money is in the mines but that means working away which like you say isnt for always for us.Jobs do seem pretty readily avilable for mechanics in most areas of Brisbane,if you search the threads a guy from a main dealer regually advertised on here for a while, just cant remember the name,
Cal x
